Beauty Guru: 3 Easy Fixes for Common Beauty Problems

No matter how good we are when it comes to our beauty stuff, problems are bound to happen. We can run away in sheer panic (trust me, it has crossed my mind!), or figure out a way to salvage our beauty situation. With a little trial and error (and too much time on Pinterest), here are three easy fixes for three common beauty problems.

Your straightened hair goes from fab to frizz
This especially goes for my curly-haired ladies. On the special occasion that we take the time to blow out and flat iron our hair, we want to make it last as long as possible. Living in the middle of humidity central, this can be very hard to do. So when my hair is looking more like a frizz ball, I do this simple style to bring it back to life!

  • Before bed, divide your hair in half.
  • Apply your favorite mousse or holding cream and do one big twist on each side.
  • Wrap it up in a bun and secure with bobby pins. (If you look like Princess Leia, you got it right!)
  • Tie your hair up and go to sleep.
  • In the morning take your twists down, fluff them out a bit and viola! You have some nice wave action!
When you're too tired to wash your makeup off
We know going to bed in your makeup is a big beauty no-no; however, there are plenty of times when I just don't have the energy to make it to the bathroom to rinse it off. That's why I keep a package of makeup wipes on the night stand. A few swipes and makeup is off. If you're a mom, you can steal a few of your little one's unscented baby wipes. They work too!

When your new BB cream is too light
I honestly have yet to find a BB cream that matches my skin. After trying two different brands, I found that, despite saying "Medium to Dark" on the label, they were way too light for my skin. But instead of throwing them away, I got a little creative. I took a drop of my liquid foundation and mixed it with the BB cream before applying. This gives me the perfect shade every time and lets me use the cream up until I can find one that works.

What about you? What are you go-to beauty fixes?
