Beauty Guru: How to Achieve Natural Smoky Eyes for Your Date

Having your makeup look flawless on date night is super important. When you are all dolled up, you look and feel more confident, which will make you more fun to be around. One of my favorite makeup looks to create for date night is the natural smoky eye look. It isn't as dramatic as a traditional smoky eye look, but it will still turn heads. Here is how you can achieve natural smoky eyes for date night.

Prep Your Eyelids With Eye Shadow Primer

If you want your eye shadow to stand out, you have to prep your eyelids with eye shadow primer beforehand. A good eye shadow primer will give the eye shadow something to stick to so that it lasts longer on your eyelids. Just dab a few dots of eye shadow primer on your eyelids and blend it in with your fingers. If you are looking for a good eye shadow primer, check out Urban Decay Primer Potion.

Apply Taupe Eye Shadow Across Your Eyelids

Use a small eye shadow brush to apply a taupe eye shadow across your eyelids. Make sure to not apply this eye shadow above your creases. One of my favorite taupe eye shadows to use is MAC Eye shadow in "Satin Taupe."

Sweep Bronze Eye Shadow Along Your Creases

Take a blending brush and sweep a bronze eye shadow along your creases in windshield wiper motions. Just keep sweeping this eye shadow back and forth until it blends perfectly with the taupe eye shadow.

Highlight Your Brow Bones With Champagne Eye Shadow

Soften up the look a little by applying a champagne-colored eye shadow along your brow bones with another small eye shadow brush. Stila eye shadow in "Kitten" is a great highlighting color to try.

Line Your Lash Lines With Black Pencil Eyeliner

Carefully apply a black pencil eyeliner along your upper and lower lash lines. If you want your eyeliner to last even longer, go over it with some black eye shadow.

Apply Black Mascara to Your Lashes

Finish off the look by applying two coats of black mascara to your eyelashes.

Make sure to keep the rest of your makeup pretty low-key. Just apply some peach blush along your cheekbones and nude lipstick on your lips, and you are all set to go!
