The summer season will be here very soon, which means we will be showing a lot more skin. If you're like me, your skin is probably still a little dry from the winter. My skin is naturally dry all year round, but the combination of the dry air and hot showers has made it even drier. Luckily, there are a few things I can do to get my skin looking smooth and pretty for the summer.
Exfoliate Your Skin Once a Week
It's time to start exfoliating that skin. Exfoliating will get rid of all those dead skin cells, leaving you with beautiful and supple skin. I personally love using LUSH Ocean Salt as an exfoliator for my skin. This product has a nice citrus scent and truly leaves your skin feeling soft. I like to gently massage the product all over my body when I'm in the shower.
Apply Moisturizer to Damp Skin
Did you know it's better to apply moisturizer to your skin when it's a little damp? When you apply moisturizer to damp skin, it helps seal in more hydration. When you get out of the shower, just lightly pat your body with a towel and apply your moisturizer immediately afterward.
Use Baby Oil
Even though those scented lotions from Bath & Body Works smell great, they really won't do that much for very dry skin. It is best to use a product that is very hydrating such as baby oil. I find that baby oil can do much more for your skin than a regular lotion. My skin always feels so much softer after I apply baby oil to it.
Wash Your Face With a Moisturizing Cleanser
It is a good idea to wash your face with a moisturizing cleanser. If you are on the lookout for a great cream cleanser, you should check out The Body Shop's Vitamin E Cream Cleanser. It removes the dirt and makeup from your skin, but it doesn't take away all the moisture.
Getting soft and beautiful skin for the summer is easier than you probably thought. If you follow these great trips, your skin will look and feel better in no time.
