Beauty Guru: Photo Tutorial for Date-Worthy Smokey Eyes

February is the month of love and of course that means dates. Who doesn't love a good smokey eye for date night? Smokey eye makeup doesn't have to be a scary though. Follow theses simple steps for a quick easy smokey eye for your next date night!

Products Used:

Urban Decay Naked Palette

M.A.C. Black Shadow

Eyeko Black Eyeliner

Maybelline Colossal Volumes Express Mascara

Eyelash Curler

Brushes Used:

Shadow Brush

Slanted Eyeliner Brush

Steps to an easy smokey eye:

*Apply a shimmery light shadow all over lid, including the inner corner. Highlighting the corner will brighten your eyes, making you look more awake. I used a mix of Virgin and Sin from my UD Naked Palette.

*Swipe a dark grey or black shadow into the crease, using your slanted eyeliner brush. It creates a sharp line that allows for more precise application. Next, using your shadow brush to blend the line you just created. I used Creep from the UD Naked Palette.

*Using a eyeliner brush, create a slanted line with the same dark shadow from the end of the crease to the outward corner of the eye. Fill in and blend in with more dark shadow.

*Finish with eyeliner and mascara. For a more dramatic look, extend your eyeliner out for the winged look. I used a liquid pen liner with a tip like a felt tip pen. For a softer look, use an eyeliner pencil. After application, smudge the line with a slanted eyeliner brush. I used an eyelash curler for 15 seconds before applying two coats of mascara.

With this tutorial, you have complete control over how you want your look. Applying more shadow for a darker look, or you could use a brown shadow for a softer daytime look. By leaving the middle part of your lid dark shadow free it opens up your eye allowing your eyes to really pop.

Now you are ready for date night! Easily, quickly and with enticing eyes!

What is your favorite date night look? Do you focus on eyes or lips?
