Ahhh-New Year's resolutions - I have made my share and have unfortunately faltered more than I have succeeded. However with that said, I am feeling optimistic about my New Year's resolution this year.
Ironically, before I received this writing assignment (name your top three beauty resolutions) one of my resolutions was to take better care of my skin. No more just wiping down the face with a wet cloth and scrubbing off the eye makeup and calling it a night and no more playing in the sun without sunscreen. Another resolution was to experiment with different eye shadow colors and techniques.
Facial cleansing - While I do have the products to properly cleanse my face, sometimes just sheer laziness prompts me to wipe down my face with a cloth and call it a day. Needless to say, as an owner of a skin care website, I know better and this method of cleansing does absolutely nothing to promote a healthy complexion. I preach all the time about the importance of a skin care routine and the benefits it will provide. Thus, to remedy this I am investing in a facial and body cleansing apparatus and have selected the BriteLeafs Face and Body Ultra Clean Brush 4-in-1 SPA Cleansing System. This product seems to have great reviews and I am sure it will brighten up my dull winter skin and promote a nice healthy glow.
Sunscreen - Years of baking in the sun have given me my share of brown spots, age spots, or whatever you want to call them. Even with that said I still find myself sitting outside soaking up the sun with no sunscreen. Living in a northern climate where it is winter 6 months of the year, when summertime comes all I want to do is soak up the sun. However, this year I vow to wear sunscreen, and invest in a sunscreen that is as free from harmful chemicals. After a little research Badger All Natural Sunscreen, SPF 30 seems to be a pretty good product.
Lastly, I have vowed this year to update my eye makeup and experiment with different colors and techniques. I have been wearing the same old browns and using the same application technique for years. Time for a change! So I purchased "Making Faces" for under $10 on Amazon. It is full of ideas and I will be following some of the techniques in this book.
My other resolutions this year are to do my exercise tape three times a week and eat healthier. We will see how that goes.
So have you made any resolutions this year? I would love to hear them!
