Beauty Guru: How to Rock Purple Eye Shadow This Fall

We are well into fall, and the latest beauty trends are in full swing. From retro lips to metallic nail polish, I love it all! One trend I'm really feeling right now is purple shadow. It's one of those colors that looks good on everyone and can easily go from day to night, summer to fall. So when we were asked to pull off a fall beauty trend, this one immediately came to mind. I wanted to choose a look that could incorporate my favorite summertime shade and easily go from the office to happy hour with the girls!

Here's what you need:

  • Maybelline Color Tattoo in Painted Purple

  • Rimmel London Purple Reign Palette

  • Wet ' n Wild Color Icon Palette in Knock on Wood

  • Hard Candy Meteor-Eyes Baked Glitter Eye shadow in Super Nova

  • Rimmel London Waterproof Gel Eyeliner

  • Rimmel London Show Off Mascara in Black

Step 1Step 1: Using a small, stiff paint brush, apply Maybelline's Color Tattoo in Painted Purple on the lids. I like this cream eye shadow because the pigment is rich and the lasting power is amazing!

Step 2Step 2: Sweep the highlighter shade from the Rimmel London Purple Reign Palette from the middle of the lid out and on the creases. This helps tone the Painted Purple, so it can play nice with the other colors.

Step 3Step 3: With a small, flat brush, apply Super Nova to the outer creases. This adds just enough dark purple to make this look nighttime ready without being too out there.

Step 4Step 4: Sweep the lightest shade of the Wet 'n Wild Knock on Wood palette on the brow bone. We want to keep those eyes bright while the purples take center stage.

Step 5: Finish off a thin line of Waterproof Gel Eyeliner on the upper lash lines and a coat the Show Off Mascara.

When rocking a purple eye look, you can choose either a softer pink lipstick or go with a nude shade. Just remember that they eyes have center stage, so you don't want your lips to compete. Other ways you can rock this trend? Swap out your old liner for a purple one and take that cat-eye to another level. You can also go bolder with purple mascara. If you do, make sure to keep the rest of your makeup simple and clean, so you don't look crazy!

What about you? What's your favorite beauty trend this season? How will you be wearing it?
