These hair gems are a must!

Just about every gal I know spends as much money on her hair products as she does on her makeup and skincare goods.

Hair is important business, and picking out worthy products can be tough. You know the drill, ladies: You see an ad, or hear about a new hair product, get sucked in, and after trying it once, move this mediocre product to the back of the hair cabinet (because you can't bring yourself to toss it since you paid good money for it).

Yep, buying unworthy hair products ranks up there with dentist appointments and getting the flu. Well, here are 5 hair gems that will remain at the front of your hair cabinet:

Nexxus ProMend Split End Binding Treatment Crème $9.43: This split-end crème is, in a word, amazing and worthy (O.K., two words). This ProMend treatment provides daily repair for split ends and problem areas, literally "binding" the split ends back together. Its keratin-infused ingredients will smooth your hair and give you that "fresh haircut" look. Most importantly? It will leave your hair super shiny and smooth.

Clairol Shine Happy Clear Shine Treatment $7.19: Why pay expensive salon prices for a semi-permanent "shine" treatment when you can DIY for around $7? Clairol's Shine Happy Treatment is a clear glaze that will add incredible shine to your hair, leaving it super silky to boot. Shine = gorgeous tresses!

Neutrogena Triple Moisture Deep Recovery Hair Mask, $5.99: Neutrogena Triple Moisture Hair Mask is a deep-conditioning mask for dry, damaged hair. This intense hair mask will work wonders in rehydrating dried out, over-heated locks, leaving your hair glossy and healthy. If your hair is in need of some moisture STAT, instead of scheduling a salon appointment for some hair resuscitation, do it yourself with this deep recovery mask. Your hair (and wallet) will thank you!

Vidal Sassoon Fan Tail Comb $2.99: Want to create a messy up-do for under $3? Vidal Sassoon's Fan Tail Comb is pure genius. Position the comb over the bun, "twist" a bit to lock into place, and then pull out (and tease) desired amount of strands for that "messy" look! Sexy and chic - in less than 2 minutes!

Conair Styling Essentals Rollers, Thermal, Self-Grip, Extra Large, 4 ct, $3.00: For some "lift" without much hassle, self-grip thermal rollers are a must! All you need to heat them up is your blow dryer! Start by spraying designated sections of hair with hairspray. Next, position the rollers. I usually apply 3 in a row on the very top of my head/crown area. Then, hit the rollers with your blow dryer (a lower setting is best so you don't "blow" them out of place) and let set for 5 minutes. Once you remove the rollers, spray sections with another shot of hairspray, shake out a bit (do your best "sexy" side to side head toss) and, voila, voluminous hair!
