What's the "It" Hairstyle of 2012?

I know it's only January, but I'm calling it: 2012 is the year of the bob. Have you seen how many celebs have chopped off their hair this month? Click here to see what I'm talking about. And since all of Hollywood is obsessed with this trend, it's only a matter of time before everyone else jumps on the bob train too. Case in point: two of my closest girlfriends just went to the salon with a picture of this celebrity as inspiration.

I've also noticed something else. The bob appears to be the hairstyle for anyone named Olivia. (Stay with me.) First Olivia Palermo, then Olivia Munn, and now Olivia Wilde? I'll be honest -- I always thought this Olivia had the best bob, but then this Olivia totally took the title of "Best Olivia Bob." Sorry, other Olivias.

Luckily, non-Olivias can also get amazing bobs. In case you're thinking of going for the cut, check out the different bob looks below. Or click here for a gallery of 30 more ways to style your bob.

No. 6: Tousle it up for a romantic rendezvous

1. Begin with clean wet hair. Add a light styling serum, like Pureology's CuticlePolisher, $28, evenly through the hair.
2. Rough dry your hair until it's about 95 percent dry. Smooth your bangs over to one side.
3. Using a 1 1/2-inch curling iron, roll your hair in a candy cane fashion away from your face.

No. 5: Modernize the classic with a side swept bang:

1. Apply a heat protectant shine product, like Pantene Pro-V Medium-Thick Hair Solutions Heat Protection & Shine Spray, $5.99 throughout your hair.
2. Blow dry hair while using a round brush to curl under the ends.

No. 3: Get the perfectly imperfect vibe

1. Apply a volumizing spray to wet hair. Part your hair in the middle and roughly dry your hair with a blow dryer.
2. If your bangs aren't choppy enough, grab a triangular section in the front of the hair and create the additional texture using texturizing shears. (And if you're not comfortable cutting your own bangs, head to your local salon for the best bangs for your face shape.)

2. Part hair in the middle and begin drying the hair in small sections using a round boar bristle brush.

No. 1: Soften the blunt with waves

1. Apply a small amount of volumizing mousse to wet hair.
2. Roughly blow dry your hair to create texture, then separate your hair into small sections
