Here's why everyone needs a best friend. When I met mine for dinner last night, she took one look at my lips and said, "Since when were you trying to be goth?" I wasn't, of course. I was just trying out this new dark berry lipstick, which didn't really feel like "me" in the first place. But of course, my best friend already knew that -- and called me out on it.

So when I got home, I threw out all of my dark shades of lipstick, and decided to find a perfect lip look based on my personality. After taking this quiz, I found out that every woman falls into one of these five categories, depending on her personality:

Classic red

From making a speech to making the first move, you exude confidence in whatever you do, and many respect you for that. So it's no wonder that people are naturally drawn to you. According to makeup artist Lijha Stewart, this look is one that demands attention, and is the trademark of an independent woman. She also says that red lips are a sign that the person is "established in their life and career."

Bubblegum gloss

Stewart says, "This girl wants to kiss a few boys." You're enthusiastic and guarantee fun times -- no matter the circumstance. And this youthful look definitely sends out those playful vibes. As for your flirtatious nature, you can wear this signature lip two ways. For the perfect flirty look, keep the rest of your makeup neutral, but if you want a more seductive spin, Stewart suggests pairing your gloss with a smoky eye.

Nearly nude

Girls with nude lips are usually self-assured since they don't mind their natural look, says Stewart (No caked on makeup for you.) In many ways, this look is youthful, but in a different way than a pink, shiny gloss. It's more sophisticated and doesn't mind blending in, kind of like the wearer. "This girl is more introverted," explains Stewart. In fact, you're less concerned about appearances than what type of energy you're giving off.

Deep, dark berry

No longer solely reserved for goth girls, these days, many people are wearing dark lipsticks without any sort of creepy vibe. But there are still has some traces of its goth past. "This signature look works well on someone who is solitary, and likes spending time alone," Stewart says. The dark color also has a bit of mystery around it, which the wearer can use to her advantage. Lastly, deep, dark berry lips take a lot of guts, so it's clear that you don't care what other people have to say -- a quality we admire.

Bright pops of color

Girls who are not afraid of bright pops of color are fashion forward and known for their adventurous style. According to Stewart, "Most people don't walk around with neon lips, so if you do, I know you're definitely a risk taker." And it's not just in your makeup choices. You also take creative risks in your daily life with your clothing choices, your hair color, and any other crafty outlet you can find. One day you could be wearing bright orange lipstick and the next day it's onto fuchsia.
