marc-jacobs-bang-ad-campaign-1Marc Jacobs' new scent is called Bang, and the only thing that's really catching my eye is the ad campaign, which features a naked Marc Jacobs holding a bottle of his own scent to cover his private parts. It's reminiscent of his ad for Louis Vuitton that had him holding a bag to cover his nether regions. marc jacobs louis vuitton ad The scent is supposed to have young, contemporary males in mind, and that was the justification for the ad campaign. I, however, showed the ad to a few of my male friends, and their reaction was interested. Nobody said that it made them interested in the perfume, and they also weren't taken aback by the ad. The women, however, were more interested, so lets just leave it at that. I actually liked how Bang smells. It's peppery and woody and very warm. The Eau de Toilette Spray will retail for $69 for 50 ml. Lets also take a minute to recall this ad campaign for a Tom Ford scent. Interestingly, this scent is also for men, but it featured a naked woman who can't be identified in theRead More »from Marc Jacobs Poses Nude for His Own Perfume

Living-Proof-full-thickening-creamI don't really love Living Proof No Frizz products because they've left my hair dryer than before. But I still want to find the next amazing product for my hair, so I continue to try them whenever I can.Read More »from Get Thicker Hair NOW!
I have really fine hair so I was looking forward to trying the Full Thickening Cream by Living Proof. All I can say is that I wish I had a life-time supply of this stuff. It is AMAZING. Long hair just needs a nickle sized amount.
You just apply it to your hair as you would a serum or any other styling cream. Run a comb through your hair to make sure that it's spread evenly throughout your hair. I put it into wet hair, and I could feel a difference right away.
As I ran my hands through my hair, it felt like it was fuller already. It felt like I had more hair.
The best part comes after your hair is dried. The cream dries nice and shiny like a serum and isn't at all stiff or scrunchy to the touch. That means that it looks amazing and completely full. After I started using this, I've

If you're wondering what shade of gloss or lipstick to pair with your blue or grey shadows, I have the answer. You must get a pretty strawberry or pink colour to adorn your lips.Read More »from Fall Trend: Strawberry Lips and 5 Products to Help You Get Them
We're not talking hot pink or anything neon here. We are, after all, in autumn, no?
I am thinking of actual pink, perhaps inspired by your berry of choice. Raspberry or Strawberry would work well, as would a darker shade of Barbie pink. Here are my picks.
Dior's Serum de Rouge in 670 (Pink Diva). This is my go-to colour. I love it so much that I got a back up! It's a bright pink but the Serum de Rouge formula makes it go on sheer, so it's just a nice wash of colour. I layer it more when I feel like I need to brighten my look more. The blue-based pink makes my teeth look whiter too!
Fresh Gloss in Pomegranate by Joe Fresh. This gloss reminds me of a higher end version by Prescriptives because it's nice and slick, not sticky. The Pomegranate colour is sheer and wearable. Strawberry LipsNARS Lip Gloss in Strawberry Fields.
Lately, I have been using the ProActiv 3-step System. They recommend that you use the system only when you have 5 or more breakouts at one time, and unfortunately, this has been the case with my skin for the past little while. I don't know if it's stress, or maybe the change of weather, but my skin has not been doing well. So I turned to ProActiv.
The formula of it has changed so that they now use what they call a "micro-crystal technology" which lets the key ingredients get absorbed by the skin more quickly. I don't really have anything to compare the system to, so all I can comment on is the system as a whole.
I found that this really dried my skin out - I mean, I have oily skin that usually doesn't get dry, but after a couple of days of using this system, I felt as if my skin would crack if I smiled. My makeup went on really well on top of it, and it looked flawless for a long time, but I really did have a hard time dealing with the dryness.
The solution, of course, is toRead More »from Should You Go On ProActiv?
I've always wondered what I'd look like with dark lipstick. I know that it's trendy to wear a dark berry, but everytime I put it on, I just don't feel at home with it and always end up wiping it off. Luckily, Jessica Alba's there to help me - she's about the same tone skin as me, and she tries such a myriad of looks that I can always see how things would look on me by looking at her.
Alba shows me that my own instincts were right - dark lipstick would look as horrible on me as it does on her! Seriously, this look is a major fail in my books. Not only is her makeup horrible, but those are about the ugliest shoes that I have ever seen. I hope they're not Tod's.
Jessica Simpson goes without makeup for the cover of the May issue of Marie Claire magazine. Actually, she looks great. Better than great, even. I would be happy if I looked that good without makeup or air brushing - actually, you know what, I might look good without makeup, but I'm so used to wearing makeup all the time that sometimes I don't have the confidence to go without it, even when I know that I can.
I try to go through periods of time where I at least don't wear any foundations. Going foundation-less over the weekends has been working well for me. Usually, I forget about the fact that I'm not wearing any foundation right after I leave the house. It's only when I get ready to go to bed that I realize that I'm not wearing anything on my face and so I don't need to wash it before I go to bed! It is indeed a liberating feeling knowing that there's no gunk to wash off at the end of the day, but Monday morning I am back to my old habits with the foundation.

1.Jurlique Daily Exfoliating Cream. If your skin is regularly dry and red, the last thing you want to do is use a really harsh exfoliator on it. For exfoliating this type of skin, we recommend Jurlique's Daily Exfoliating Cream. Without a doubt, it is one of the gentlest exfoliators on the market and it's all natural.
The Daily Exfoliating Cream is full of oats, honey, and Jurlique's biodynamic blend of floral extracts so that your skin gets conditioned and hydrated as you wash it. This isn't a scrub in the traditional sense of the word - rather, it's more of a treatment cleanser that can help you get rid of dry spots without really scrubbing your skin.
It's gentle enough to use daily and won't leave sensitive skin feeling dry or over-scrubbed.
Jurlique products are available at Holt Renfrew here in Canada.
2. Dr. Brandt Microdermabrasion Cream. This is a best-selling product and for good reason: it gives a really good scrub but it does so with tiny grains so theRead More »from 4 Skincare Products That Deliver Results
The compact itself is a fun whimsical creation by artist Chisato Tsumori. It's one in a long line of collaborations between the Shu Uemura brand and designers that the company admires. Chisato's Autumn/Winter collection was titled Cosmic Fantasy, and you only need to take a look at this compact to see that it falls into the same realm of imagination.
The compact's packaging is infused with glitter as are each of the products inside. Everything from the blush to the cream eyeliner has glitter in it, and the effect is very pretty. I foudn that the glitter did end up rubbing on to my hand over the course of the day, but more important was that the pigment stayed and gave me a glowy look which was super pretty. I'm not a big fan of glitter but this shimmer was flattering.
The colours are such that would look pretty on a lot of people, and generally this is a well thought-out palette. The blush is big enough to get your regular blush brush in, the eyeshadows are small and shouldRead More »from Shu's Holiday Collection
I have been skeptical when it came to trying different lines of mineral makeup, especially when it came to eyeshadow. My regular eyeshadow (the kind that comes pressed in a pan) works so well, why bother experimenting?
And then I tried Orglamix Mineral Makeup (1). I had a few samples sitting in my makeup drawer, and when I cleaned it out this weekend, I saw the little tubs sitting at the back of my drawer. I opened them and checked out the colours - two were so pretty I tried them on right there an then. Olive, a nice golden green, and Brimstone, a pretty dark grey-blue that would make a lovely smoky eye.
When I tried on the colours, I was super-impressed. There was no annoying fall-out on to my face, and the colours stuck to my eyelids. Moreover, the wore beautifully as the day went on and maintained their colour and sheen. It was pretty amazing - these eyeshadows are probably some of the best that I have ever tried

While some see a bright red lip as just a gash of lipstick, us beauty addicts know that it's so much more than that. Red lipstick is the ultimate beauty statement and a mark of true confidence. It's not easy to pull off, but we can show you how to do it properly.
This year, to find out how to do a perfect red lip, we talked to Estee Lauder's Global Premier Makeup Artist how we can do our red lip this holiday season and he gave us some great tips.
First and formost: Blair said that you shouldn't even try to do a red lip if you don't plan on doing it properly. What's proper? Using a lip liner so the red lip is perfectly lined, using a base so that the lipstick stays put, and actually finding the right color for yourself, not just picking up whatever was in your mom's drawer or whatever you had lying around.
What's a problem for many people is finding the perfect color for themselves.
The shade that you pick should obviously compliment your skin tone. Blair suggests thatRead More »from How To: The Red Lip
