  • Holiday flab to new year fab! 4 fitness workouts reviewed!

I describe my fitness level as: Beginner.
I exercise: Almost never, unless you count chasing a toddler around all day long in a two-story house.
My usual reaction to fitness DVDs is: Positive.

    Zumba Fitness

On a scale of barely sweat to totally-kick-butt, this workout is: Fun and it definitely gets your heart rate going. I got a little sweaty, but I wasn't drenched in sweat. I love to dance and this seems to be what Zumba basically is, a series of different dance steps from different cultures (mostly of the Latin culture). Zumba wasn't much different from one of my Puerto Rican family parties.
The equipment I needed was: Just Me. There are some fun shakers included in the Zumba kit, but you didn't have to use them for the workout.
The next day I felt: Good, I didn't experience any pain afterwards.
The instructor was: Fun. There were rotating instructors and they all had a fun flare to them.
I'd recommend this DVD to: Anyone. It's fun and upbeat and a good work-out. Some of the steps may

Monster High Dolls, "Dead Tired" Cleo De Nile: Daughter of The Mummy!"Dead Tired" Cleo De Nile

The price of this toy is: Good, as I found it for only $12.99; however, I think these dolls are hideous and wouldn't waste a dollar on them.
This toy would be great for: No child at any age. This doll sends a negative message to kids.
The benefits of this toy seems to be: Nothing. I understand that these dolls are supposed to be monsters, but I find it just gross and disturbing that Cleo De Nile, has limbs that can come off!
The downsides are: Many! Besides the fact that her limbs can come off, she's WAY TOO SKINNY and she has a permanently arched back and butt that juts out! I think it may even be worse than Barbie and I like Barbie. Cleo De Nile's face is gorgeous, like a model, even though she's the daughter of a mummy, and it makes me wonder what kind of body images are these dolls sending to little girls? How realistic is it to have a perfect face on an overly skinny body with limbs that can be removed?! Hmm? Also,

  • From my fitting room to your sitting room: Bootcut jeans!

    My body type is: Petite.

    Lucky Brand

    Lola Bootcut

Fit: I am 5'2 in height and these jeans are way too long for me. Apparently they don't carry any jeans that I wouldn't have to hem. I was disappointed on how they sagged off my butt too, is it more ladylike to say "bottom?" They even sagged from the back of my legs! Either way, baby got back, but I guess not enough of it to fill these jeans.
Texture/Color is: The texture was comfortable and the color was your typical, dark blue, slightly washed out jeans.
    Makes me feel: Frumpy.
    Would wear it: Absolutely nowhere.
I'd recommend to: Somebody who is tall and curvy.
I feel the price is: Too much and that you are simply just paying for the brand name. They were $99.00, but, in my opinion, not anything special enough to pay that amount.

    True Religion

    High Rise Boot

Fit: Love how these jeans hug my thighs, butt and legs. However, they are way too long. They do fit like a glove everywhere else and have some nice design details on them.
