  • Helping Your Grieving Child After a Death

By Author Carolyn j Morris for GalTime.com

Helping a Grieving Child Helping a Grieving Child As adults, we know that eventually we must deal with the death of someone we know or love. Unfortunately, many children are forced to face it much earlier than adults would like. As a mother and as someone who lost my mother at a young age, I have compiled these tips for parents to help children cope with loss.

    Acknowledge loss

Much like the rest of us, children need to feel secure and significant after a loss. They don't want you to forget the loved one that has died, and they often don't articulate their feelings easily. We must acknowledge the reality of the death to be able to cope with it. Gentle, real and honest conversation will eventually help the child as they think through and feel through the grieving process.

Tips for Small BusinessesTips for Small BusinessesTips for marketing your small business

Finding innovative ways to save money is nothing new to small business owners. Entrepreneurs are a hearty bunch - thick skin and creative thinking are integral parts of the job. Additionally, tracking down funding requires tough decision making and determination.

Times have been especially tough during the recession years for small business owners, especially for those wanting to expand. Traditional lending routes are tight and business owners are having to look for alternative financing options to build their brands, or even just stay afloat. A study released by financial institution analytics company Trepp, LLC gave one in every eight U.S. banks a failing grade based on categories like earnings, capital and asset performance. The numbers were particularly bad for mid-sized institutions, historically the best lending partners for small businesses.

    With such a bleak lending

By Jessica Ashley, GalTime.com Senior Editor

How much are you willing to pay for a great massage? How much are you willing to pay for a great massage? It was a special occasion, a rare holiday weekend getaway at a spa several hours from the constant buzz of my laptop, phone and calendar alarms. My boyfriend and I decided to set our busy lives aside and just be as much as we could for three days. That meant a few nice dinners, a great bottle of wine, workouts without the rush, sitting in the steam room, taking slow walks around the lake and through little shops. It also meant a massage.

My boyfriend chose an 80-minute session for each of us, with time enough beforehand to languish in the sauna and whirlpool. We both believe in the benefits of regular massage but we both have trouble making it a part of our monthly schedules. Just settling in for nearly an hour-and-a-half of near-silence and essential oils felt like enough.

My massage therapist was strong and diligently worked at knots in my shoulders that never seem to unwind. She used elbows and forearms and wiggled the tips of

  • A Teen Asks: "Should I Talk to My Parents About Sex?"

By GalTime Teen Parenting Expert, Barbara Greenberg, PhD

    Dear Dr. G.,

You also answer questions by teenagers, yes? Well, I was wondering if you had any advice for me regarding trust-but among friends as well as between child and parent.

First,I should probably tell you that I'm a fourteen-year-old female who is not sexually oriented as of yet, but happens to be panromantic. I have not told my parents this, although I'm sure they could guess. (My mother has asked me several times whether I am gay, although not in such explicit terms. She also points out attractive males wherever she sees one, watching me and gauging my reaction, thinking I'm not aware of what she's doing.)

The second thing you should know about me is that I just started high school at a new public school district (I've gone to a same-sex private school my entire life.) It's not that far from my old school-walking distance,actually-so I visit after school on occasion. A few weeks ago, I was working

Scarlett Johansson Scarlett Johansson Some Stars Have All the Luck!

Despite all the heartbreak and betrayal going around, some ladies seem to have all the luck. Scarlett Johansson is one of them. While she generally manages to keep her personal matters out of the press, that doesn't keep the public from noticing the presence of her newest beau, French journalist Romain Dauriac. The two were spotted over the weekend cuddling and holding hands at a trendy (and private) New York City restaurant The Beatrice Inn.

But rumors are often swirling about the actress's romantic life. She's been loosely linked with some of the sexiest men in Hollywood including Josh Hartnet, Derek Jeter, Jared Leto, Sean Penn and even Justin Timberlake, after her (pre-Jessica) cameo in his What Goes Around Comes Around video in 2007.

At least one relationship is "on the record." Johansson was married to actor Ryan Reynolds back in 2008. In fact,
