  • Cheaters Deserve a Second Chance

couple at duskcouple at duskAshton, Arnold, Woods, Edwards, Gingrich -- the laundry list of cheaters out there continues to get longer and stronger. It's becoming more expected than not that famous men cheat, and almost every time a new scandal breaks, someone in the media has to wonder if the wife will "stand by her man" a la Hillary Clinton (the standard point-to example of a woman who did this). More often than not, women who don't run to divorce court are made to look like fools. Still, I can't help but think it's not a black and white issue.

Katherine Heigl told Cosmo UK recently that she used to think if her hubby Josh Kelley cheated on her, it would be a major deal-breaker. But now, she's not so sure. She said she's seen friends go through and find a way to forgive one another, even though it would be "really hard to ever fully trust that person again." I say she's onto something.

  • If You Have to Schedule Sex, You Have Already Lost

Scheduling sex is the thing everyone tells you to do after you have kids, careers, and busy lives as a married couple. But no one really ever says how incredibly, disgustingly, and horrifyingly unsexy that is. If it works for you, then awesome, but for me, the idea of scheduling sex would make it as appealing as a dentist appointment.

The Huffington Post addressed this issue this week. They quote Dr. Eli Coleman, a professor and director of the Program in Human Sexuality at the University of Minnesota Medical School, who agrees that while scheduling and prioritizing sex can keep the excitement alive, feeling pressured to perform despite one's mood is a massive buzz kill.

I am with him. There is simply nothing erotic about punching "sex" into your day planner. Call me crazy, but it's true.

The fact is, if you have to pencil sex into your calendar, then the spontaneity and spur of the moment-ness that makes sex so

  • Pippa Middleton's Cold Weather Look is Really Hot

pippa middletonpippa middletonThe other morning while I was making my way to the subway station, I passed a mom, who, if she didn't have a child in tow, looked a lot like me. We both were wearing thick, army green coats and Hunter boots, and had oversized bags weighing our shoulders down. However, I looked disheveled as hell in the freezing, rainy weather, and she looked oddly stylish. I couldn't put my finger on what, despite our twinsies outfits, made her look like a J.Crew ad and me look like I just crawled out of a dumpster. Then, upon further inappropriate staring, I caught it. She was wearing a fur scarf.

A fur scarf! If you haven't yet gotten on board, I highly advise you to, as I have a strong feeling they're about to be all the rage. Mark my words: They'll be this winter's trapper hat. Check out Pippa Middleton on her way to work the other morning. The deep brown fur scarf adds a whole new level of sophistication to

  • 10 DIY Gifts You Can Make for Your Kids

Craft bookCraft bookFor a lot of us, money is pretty tight this year. Even if you're feeling flush, sometimes it's more fun to spend time and effort instead of a lot of money to make your child a gift they'll (hopefully) treasure.

Most of these gift ideas require minimal sewing skills and a small outlay of cash for supplies, but some recycled things you might already have around the house. And while they take some time, you could probably get at least a few of these done well before the holiday. Let the crafting begin!

    1. Homemade story book. I love this idea ... you snap some photos of the child's favorite places, write a story to go along with it, and have it bound into a book. You could use photos of your child or of a special toy. I love how Dutch and Wood from Sweet Juniper did this; Macworld also has a tutorial to make a photo journal on a Mac.

    2. Superhero capes and eye masks. What kid

  • Cookie Dough E. Coli Outbreak Comes at the Worst Time

Cookie doughCookie doughPut down the cookie dough! Nice and slow, that's right. Okay. Now back away. Phew! I just saved your life! In case you haven't heard, there's a cruel foodborne pathogen plot going on right now -- clearly orchestrated by The Grinch -- involving E. coli showing up in raw cookie dough. Really? During the holidays? That ain't cool.

Now wait, you're probably thinking. E. coli? In cookie dough? Personally, I always thought salmonella was the thing to worry about in cookie dough (raw eggs). Not that salmonella is any fun, either. So where does the E. coli come from?

Researchers aren't entirely sure, but they think raw flour might be the culprit. Apparently, unlike eggs, sugar, or baking soda, flour doesn't go through any sort of pasteurization process. Cooking the flour is the only way to kill off any potentially lingering yuckies.

Argh. How are we supposed to get through the Season of Baked Goods with the burden of

  • Babies Can Make Your Marriage Stronger

Babies add something amazing to your life once they arrive. They bring a different kind of love, so amazing in its newness and overwhelming in its enormity that many mothers (and fathers, too!) forget the love that brought them to baby in the first place. Many parents find their relationship stressed and changed after baby for good reason.

More from The Stir: You Need Counseling From Clergy and a Shrink for Marriage These Days

Babies are all-consuming. Actress Sarah Jessica Parker spoke to this truth in a very real way. She told the UK Telegraph just how hard her 14-year marriage and 20-year relationship with husband Matthew Broderick has become. She said:

Kids can really distract you from your relationship. Maybe in good ways and bad ways. It's important to have all eyes on all parts of the relationship. We've been together for 20 years and you have good days, you have decent days, and you have bad days. That's a marriage. That's a relationship. That's a

  • 5 Naughty Things You Can Do While Shopping Online

Online shoppingOnline shoppingSo, Cyber Monday was a big hit, huh? According to reports and statistics and numbers, online shoppers searched, typed, and clicked their way to the biggest online shopping day. In history.

I, personally, have indulged in a little online Christmas shopping myself thus far. And I think I just may polish off my list that way. I'm so over the crowds, and the people, and the crowds. I can't do it anymore. It's too stressful. And, besides, you can't do the things -- the crazy things -- you can do when shopping online.

Here are five scandalous, weird, and downright disgusting things you can do while shopping online. Happy holidays!

You can shop drunk. I mean, yeah, I guess you could technically shop drunk in the real world, but you do run the risk of getting arrested. Or having to pee. In which case you'll have to wait in a really long line. And, eventually, while waiting in this line, you'll

  • Ways to Keep Your Kid Entertained While in a Rear-Facing Car Seat

Girl in car seatGirl in car seatKids get bored, especially when in the car, which can result in whining, fidgeting, and even crying. And far too often, parents turn their rear-facing child around because they think a forward-facing child will be happier.

More from The Stir: You're Probably Using Your Car Seat Dead Wrong

We know that the absolute youngest a child should be forward-facing is 2 years old, but kids can get testy, bratty, and bored before then. So, along with my own solutions, I asked around and came up with a great list of ways we can keep toddlers rear-facing and happy and safer all at the same time.

    Yes, it's possible!

Utilize older siblings -- have them sing, make funny faces, or even just talk.

Talk to your child. Even if they can't see you, they'll enjoy it, and if they're old enough to answer back, this is definitely entertainment enough.

Provide drawing options, like one of the Magnetic Doodling boards, so there are no crayons to drop and coloring on the car seat.

  • New Developments in the War Between Salon and Supermarket Shampoos

DoveDoveSeveral months ago, we had a raging debate here on She's Still Got It over whether high-priced salon shampoos and conditioners were any better than the stuff you can get at the grocery.

I'll be the first to admit, I only buy shampoo and conditioner at the supermarket -- I spend my dollars instead on high-priced styling creams and serums.

At the time, I had been sent Dove's new line of Nourishing Oil Care products. I tried them out and liked them. But now I've been using the shampoo and conditioner from the line for months -- and there's something I need to tell you ...

I had been a Pantene fan in the past, but the Dove line makes my hair feel much lighter and more resistant to product residue. At the same time, my hair feels shiny, less frizzy, and static-free. It wasn't until a few days ago that I connected my hair's health to the fact that I had been using
