  • Up for Grabs: Kim Kardashian's Discarded Wardrobe is on Ebay. For Real

The clothing items discarded from Kim Kardashian's wardrobe by Kanye West are on Ebay. Who wants 'em?
    -Lucia Peters, BettyConfidential.com

Would you let your significant other throw out your entire wardrobe and re-outfit you based on his or her own particular taste? Because Kim Kardashian did-and hey, guess what? All of those discarded clothes are now yours for the taking on Ebay!

In a recent episode of Keeping Up With the Kardashians, Kim's boyfriend of the moment, Kanye West, went to town on her "ghetto" (as he put it) wardrobe, going so far as to throw a lot of it out so he could remake her in his own image. Creepy? Um, yes (yet another reason we really hope that wasn't a wedding dress Kim had on in that Instagram pic last week). But hey, I suppose at least it's sort of for a good cause; the discarded items have popped up on Ebay's auction block, with a portion of the proceeds going to the Life Change Community Church charity.

Of course, that "portion" is only about

  • A New Executive Order Places Women and Girls at the Forefront of Foreign Policy

The Preventing and Responding to VIolence Against Women and Girls Globally executive order is a major step toward a better future for girls across the globe.
    -Diana Denza, BettyConfidential.com

Back in January, the media flocked to cover the painful story of Sahar Gul, an Afghan child bride who was held captive in a basement bathroom and tortured for six months. Though her life took a turn for the better once her abusive in-laws and husband were jailed, millions of girls and women around the world will never see the same justice.

Over 60 million girls under 18-many of whom live in South Asia-are currently child brides, according to the United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women. Perhaps even more shockingly, anywhere from 100 to 140 million girls around the world have been forced to undergo genital mutilation.

And though women in the United States fare far better, millions of us have been affected by horrific acts of violence. The Center for

After a brief detour working for someone else, Natalie Nguyen followed her dream and became a jewelry designer.
-Lucia Peters and PJ Gach, BettyConfidential.com

Looking over Natalie Nguyen's jewelry line, Soria Z, you'll notice that the silver pieces are elegant-almost ethereal looking and versatile. Her pieces can easily go from day to night. It's cazy to think the woman who creates these oh-so lovely pieces almost spent her life in a corporation!

"A few years ago, I set out on a 'creative journey' you could say," says Natalie. "The majority of my career has been in corporate business but I knew that I always loved to create and design. When I was younger, I would make jewelry with almost any type of material I could get my hands on!"

"A few years ago," Natalie explains, "I reconnected with that creative side of myself and started taking jewelry workshops and courses in metalsmithing and fabrication, wax carving and stone setting in various studios in the city in

  • Fourth (?) Look: Lindsay Lohan as '80s-Era Liz Taylor is Closer to the Mark

'Liz & Dick' airs on Lifetime in November. Here's Lindsay Lohan as a surprisingly convincing '80s-era Elizabeth Taylor. THoughts, Bettys?
    -Lucia Peters, BettyConfidential.com

The November 3 air date of Lifetime's Elizabeth Taylor biopic, Liz & Dick, is slowly edging closer, so naturally, Lifetime has taken it upon themselves to release more stills from the movie in the hopes of convincing us that Lindsay Lohan will make at least a passable Dame Liz. And unexpectedly, this photo of LiLo as 1980s-era Liz Taylor is probably the most convincing image we've gotten of her so far. I know, I know-I'm as surprised as you are. But look, here's a comparison shot: A portrait of the real-life Elizabeth shot in the '80s:

Pretty close, no? Much more convincing than, say, LiLo-as-Liz-as-Cleopatra (although admittedly an official shot of the Cleopatra scene released along with the '80s pic looks better than that blurry behind-the-scenes shot). Maybe it's because the '80s were less kind

  • Win It! Canon PowerShot Digital Camera + 'Speechless' by Hannah Harrington!

Fight bullying with Love is Louder and Hannah Harrington's new novel, 'Speechless.'
    -The Betty Editors, BettyConfidential.com

Bullying in schools has always been a problem, but in recent years, it's been getting more and more out of control-and that's why we're one hundred percent behind Speechless, the new novel by author Hannah Harrington.

Speechless centers around Chelsea, a sixteen-year-old who relishes her in-crowd status, gained through her friendship with the popular Kristen and cemented by her penchant for passing along gossip. But after Chelsea drunkenly outs her classmate Noah at a party, he is brutally beaten by two jocks, one of whom is Kristen's boyfriend. When Chelsea goes to the police about what happened, her world implodes, and she, formerly party of the bullying crowd, becomes bullied herself. In response, Chelsea takes a vow of silence, communicating her thoughts by writing on a small whiteboard. Her vow, along with new friendships and a budding

  • The Saga of John Galliano Continues: Disgraced Designer Sues Dior

John Galliano, who has kept his head down since being convicted of making anti-Semitic remarks and fired from Dior, is suing his former employers.
    -Lucia Peters, BettyConfidential.com

For the past year, disgraced former Dior designer John Galliano has been keeping his head down. This is unsurprising; he was, after all, convicted last fall of making anti-Semitic remarks, fined, ousted from Dior, and stripped of his Legion of Honor. He might be getting ready to make a comeback-he was spotted lunching with Anna Wintour at the Paris Ritz during Haute Couture Fashion Week earlier in the summer-but here's an interesting development: He's apparently now taking Dior to task for… well, we don't quite know what.

According to the Telegraph, Galliano has launched an "employee/employer dispute claim" for over €15 million (close to $19 million)at the Conseil des Prud'hommes-that is, he's apparently suing Dior for a LOT of money. A Paris hearing is scheduled for February 4, 2013.

    -Lucia Peters, BettyConfidential.com

Since her world debut at the Royal Wedding last spring, Pippa Middleton has become almost as well known for her partying antics as she is for her shapely behind. But now she's turning her hand to a different kind of partying-the chi-chi type of partying most of us like to refer to as "entertaining." And hey, look! She wrote a book about it!

The cover art for Pippa's party planning book, Celebrate: A Year of Festivities for Families and Friends, has just been released by Viking Press. Take a peek at the front cover above. Pretty, isn't it? Although we don't know what the actual contents of the book will be like yet, if the cover is anything to go by, it looks like Pippa might be ready to give Martha Stewart a run for her money. For the curious, here's the back cover, too:
