Well, guess what, ladies: The real reason you want it is because, somewhere in the depths of your womanly brain, you think it will keep other chicks from stealing your man.

    By Natasha Burton

Yeah. So says a RIDICULOUS new study by researchers at the University of Minnesota, who talked to 649 women and found that buying designer duds is a tactic of sorts to tell other women to step away from our boyfriends.

"We found that a woman who is wearing luxury items and designer brands is perceived to have a more devoted partner and as a result other women are less likely to flirt with him," says Ph.D. student Yajin Wang, one of the authors of the study. "Regardless of who actually purchased the items, other women inferred that the man had something to do with it and is thus more devoted to her."

  • Erotic Novels Inspired by the Royal Baby?!

Mills & Boon has launched a trio of short, steamy stories Mills & Boon has launched a trio of short, steamy stories We get it: Everyone wants to capitalize on the Royal Baby, which is why there is already hella swag (cups! plates! t-shirts!) commemorating his birth.

But there is a line. And erotic novels most definitely cross it.

Oh, yes, bodice-ripper publishing house Mills & Boon has launched a trio of short, steamy stories "inspired by" Kate's and Will's welcoming of the little prince. Apparently, the stories center around the birth of an heir to the throne, which would be fine, we guess, if one of the books wasn't called "Royal Baby" and didn't feature a photo of a SMILING NEWBORN on its cover.

The book's tagline of sorts reads: "Let us treat you like a queen-relax and enjoy three glamorous, passionate stories about privileged royal life, love affairs...and scandalous pregnancies!"

    And we're majorly creeped out.

  • Why Everyone is Bummed the Royal Baby is a Boy

Proud new parents Prince William and Kate Middleton.Proud new parents Prince William and Kate Middleton. It's a…boy. A little prince arrived earlier this week-healthy, blue-blooded, probably pretty cute, given its genes. So why is everyone so disappointed?

    By Michelle Ruiz

When the news broke via Twitter/press release /gilded easel, there was a palpable sense of shock and some not-so-secret dissatisfaction in the air. As one clever tweeter quipped: "Kate Middleton had a boy? Rude." Of course biologically there was a 50 percent chance that the Baby Highness would have a penis, but what of Kate's supposed "daughter" slip and those pesky British oddsmakers who swore, with no evidence whatsoever, that the Royal Baby would be a girl named Alexandra?! It was suddenly, embarrassingly clear that we're all total suckers-or hopeless feminists.

Here's some body confidence inspiration to remind you that you're gorgeous! Here's some body confidence inspiration to remind you that you're gorgeous! Not feeling so hot when you look in the mirror? We've been there, girl-and we've got your back. If you're having "a day" where you can't help but hate your hair/your thighs/your skin, here's some body confidence inspiration to remind you that you're gorgeous and fabulous just as you are.

    By Natasha Burton

    1. Take a good look at yourself-and let the words of Oprah cleanse your soul:
"The next time you look into the mirror, try to let go of the story line that says you're too fat or too sallow, too ashy or too old, your eyes are too small or your nose too big; just look into the mirror and see your face. When the criticism drops away, what you will see then is just you, without judgment, and that is the first step toward transforming your experience of the world."

    2. Repeat after Christina Hendricks: Life's too short to beat yourself up for indulging in dessert, nachos, etc.
The Mad Men vixen has said, "Back when I was modeling, the first time I went to Italy I was having cappuccinos

  • 6 Things to Do Online when You Know Your Ex is Watching

Your ex is probably keeping an online eye on you...Your ex is probably keeping an online eye on you...Breakups suck. But even though the two of you are totally dunzo, your ex will probably still have his (online) eye on you. So...why not give him a show? This is totally okay, says dating expert Marni Battista. You just have to make sure it's coming from the right place.

    By Dara Adeeyo

It's important that you come from a place of sharing your joy and letting him (and the world) know you are more than okay since the breakup and have happily moved on, versus wanting him to know he missed out on something really awesome-even though he totally did. Here's how:

    1. Find a really positive breakup quote that really resonates for you and post it on Facebook or Instagram. Tell the world you know that sometimes the worst things in life end up being the best. This is a great one: "Some people think that it's holding on that makes one strong; sometimes it's letting go."

    2. And if you're feeling ballsy, share your favorite breakup song that pretty much sums up how you feel about the two of you

Sometimes certain wedding traditions are better left in the past.Sometimes certain wedding traditions are better left in the past. With wedding season in full swing, we're taking a look at some of the weird-and totally cray cray-superstitions about getting married. As insane as they are, these good/bad omens are pretty easy to follow…so you might want to keep them in mind, you know, just in case

    By Natasha Burton

    1. Watch out for blind guys and pregnant women.
In olden times, a guy sent a trusted friend or family member to chat with his potential bride as part of the marriage proposal process. But if the person saw a blind dude or a pregnant chick on the way to her house, it was considered a bad omen.

    2. Your last names shouldn't start with the same letter.
Because it's bad luck, duh. There's even a handy rhyme: "To change the name and not the letter/Is to change for the worst and not the better." No wonder Henry CAVILL and Kaley CUOCO had no future together...

    3. Don't get married in May.
Another marriage rhyme of yore warns against weddings in the fifth month of the year: "Marry in the month of May, and
