A Traditional Italian Christmas Eve with 7 Fishes

As long as I can remember Grandma Victoria and Grandpa John were the beginning of many family traditions. When they both came to this country from Italy, Rome Region, they had nothing, and soon they built their lives here together having several children who continued these family traditions and we were fortunate that our dad was one of them . As time went on, they have passed down to all of us kids these wonderful traditions and mom and dad made even more traditions of their own....now we are that next generation to keep all these wonderful traditions going .... many memories of years gone by, but the great times will continue on through the next generation and families to come... A wonderful journey into our Italian Christmas Eve. Merry Christmas to all…with love…

Broccoli is a fiber find. Not only is it a rich source, but half of its fiber is insoluble and half is soluble, helping to meet your needs for both types of fiber. But the story doesn't end with broccoli's rich array of nutrients. Broccoli provides a health bonus in the form of protective substances that may shield you from disease. Botanically, broccoli belongs to the cabbage family, collectively known as cruciferous vegetables.

Health organizations have singled out cruciferous vegetables as must-have foods, recommending we eat them several times a week. Why? They are linked to lower rates of cancer.

Chocolate on Chocolate Boston Cream Pie with Rum Ganache Glaze

Today I had to make something special for the love of my life as we are celebrating our 11th wedding anniversary. The best 11 years of my life, my best friend, my equal, my love is forever lasting. It's so unusual to have four straight stormy days here in Florida. I was so hoping for a clear day. I started out with cutting the cake in half wrong, so I made another one. Then I made a huge mess, so I will give you some tips about melting chocolate into hot heavy cream. Then when it rains it pours is the expression? Well it started pouring when I took this shot, so if you see bubbles or raindrops on this cake it won't surprise me! The good news is this one tasted just as I thought it would, decadent. It wasn't the best looking cake and it had it's ups and downs today, but in the end it's like a great marriage with imperfections. As long as there are more ups than downs, as life has it, well then we

Upstate NY Style Shrimp Margarita Pizza with Fresh Pizza Dough Recipe

Click on title for this recipe and more.....
One of my favorite all time pizza's is Margarita Pizza this was my mom's dough recipe, with our favorite topping! Her name was Margaret, coincidence? I see online some use a "H" in Margarita, sounded more like a Mexican name for an Italian Pizza.... either way I am ok with it ...(smile) So this one's for you Margaret, where ever you are up there... Love you always~ RIP Easy to make, nothing like homemade dough, especially if you use a heavy duty mixer... I cheat! Mom use to do everything by hand, it amazed me how light and perfect her dough was... nothing ever comes out quite like she made it.. She would have loved these toppings, shrimp was her favorite too... But you can put whatever you like on it... the original way is just fresh tomatoes and fresh basil...
