  • 10 Funny New Year's Resolutions

The Thanksgiving leftovers aren't even gone but the murmurs of New Year's resolutions can already be heard. Before your kids, your co-workers, and all those fashion mags piled up in your mailbox start hounding you about shedding weight, toning up,and finally canning the 7-a-day Diet Coke habit, why don't we take a moment to stop and enjoy the bad habits we are relishing right now?

Eventually you will have to power up the treadmill, step away from the holiday party buffet, and snub out those smokes (even if they are only for social occasions). Until then, here are a few of the best and most ridiculous resolutions sure to be made and broken only hours in to 2012.

  • The Miss Piggy Workout: Sexy, Strong, and in Stilettos

Missy Piggy's signature chop.Missy Piggy's signature chop. Can you be fit and fleshy? We can debate it all day long, but all we really need to do is take a peek at some of Miss Piggy's finest, fiercest moments to see how a lady can rock the curves and still kick out a mean karate chop.

While embracing every bit of her sexy swineness, Miss Piggy has also been honing her strength for years. She's so well-practiced that she can send a frog flying in seconds flat. While wearing heels. And barely mussing up her perfectly-curled coif.

If you're just trying to make it through the Tae Bo VHS tape still stuck in the VCR and think working out means sporting your husband's old team-building t-shirt from work and some saggy yoga pants from the '90s, perhaps it is time to reframe your fitness.

The Miss Piggy way of working out requires stilettos, bedazzled jackets, and not one frizzy hair out of place. Make this exercise your own by carefully studying the jump-front kicks and knife-hand strikes of martial arts -- and then sharpening your skills by doing

  • Be Honest: Do You Reward Your Kids for Their Grades?

Do you pay for grades?Do you pay for grades?Last week, every other post on my Facebook news feed was a cheer from a parent for a child's grades. I am sure those people who were staring down C's and D's didn't mutter a word on a social network, if only because they may have been doing so much lecturing/yelling/loud sighing at home to have the energy to update their 773 friends. As great as it is to give a virtual high-five to children who bring home stellar report cards, I wondered how many kids rolled their eyes when their enthusiastic moms blurted out, "ALL A's?! I am so putting this up on Twitter!"

Long before we became a broadcast nation, my own family didn't spend a lot of time celebrating good grades. My brother and I were expected to do well in school. The end. Sure, we were congratulated on earning top scores, especially if we worked hard to get them or if we'd bettered our grades from the previous term. We may have even had a heart-shaped Jello dessert that night or gotten a decorated note from my mom. But the reward,

  • Amy Adams' Muffin Top: She's OK with It

Amy AdamsAmy AdamsAmy Adams had a baby. And now, Amy Adams has a muffin top. Eighteen whole months later! If you've already gasped at the very thought of a big-screen star having a jelly belly more than a month after birthing a child, get ready for the really radical part -- Amy Adams is all honey badger about her changed body.

Along with embracing being bare-faced and having dried cereal strewn about her car, the actress told InStyle that she is not worried about her post-baby body. At least for today.

"I read about these actresses who get on a stationary bike two weeks after giving birth and I'm like, 'What? Where did you push your baby out of? Since having [daughter] Aviana, I have a muffin top, and that's okay right now," Adams said.

It's easy to love to hate other A-listers who have babies and a few months later do a bikini cover shoot (Kourtney Kardashian) or walk the runway (Gisele Bundchen) looking seemingly unscathed. It's also easy to shake a fist in the air while reading up on how this

  • Padma Lakshmi: "I am a single parent. But I don't feel alone"

At 41, with a big career, living in a big city, raising a toddler daughter, and looking stunning while she openly discusses what's not so pretty about parenting and her body, you might think this single mama is the new face of motherhood. But Padma Lakshmi would not agree.

"What are the faces of motherhood? You tell me. There are so many!" Lakshmi, the host of "Top Chef" and spokesperson for Sterling Vineyards Ultimate Host contest, told Shine, saying she couldn't claim that title herself.

As we all await the Wednesday evening premiere of "Top Chef:Texas" and Lakshmi offers advice on how each of us can turn a little dinner into a fabulous entertaining opportunity, the ultimate host herself also shared a bit about what it's like to be a mother to nearly-2-year old Krishna, how she feels about her post-pregnancy body, and how to make a budget get-together feel rich. We all have thousands of photos of our little ones zipped into their first giraffe costume, of ninjas at the ready with foam nunchucks and little princesses swathed in glittery tulle.

So why is it that we treasure most those snapshots of the newborn screaming like a kitty-cat onesie is the worst thing to happen to him since he emerged from the womb? Or can't stop giggling at pic of Grandma wearing a pirate's beard? And put all the others aside to frame a photo of the family ferret looking particularly sad to be all dolled up in Barbie clothes?

While Halloween certainly comes with many wonderful treats, it's those fall-apart, kooky, funny moments that really make it a great holiday. In honor of all that goes wrong with those $50 costumes and despite the kid carrying a huge bag of sugar, we're highlighting the very best Halloween photos.

They can be funny, silly, even kind of pathetic. They can be of kids, parents, pets, or even the pics of you that your one-day children will be

  • Jessica Simpson is pregnant. Let the speculation about losing the baby weight begin

Oh, good. Jessica Simpson's admitted that her belly is full of baby, not Doritos and bagel dogs. Or maybe the truth is that she, like many I know (or may have once been), is growing a food fetus as well as zygote in there. I honestly do not care.

What else is there to say? It's already been rumored a gazillion times that the pop star/actress(ish) was with child. She's been ruthlessly ridiculed for squeezing herself into "mom jeans" and photographed from a myriad of unflattering angles. I am pretty sure that some celebrity goss magazine or another has said (multiple times, most likely) every jab that can be made about Jessica's now-really-there baby bump.

The real excitement will come when she's seventeen months pregnant, is hobbling around on Fred Flintstone feet, and her boobs are just happy to rest upon her ginormous belly swell. Then we'll all get to wonder aloud (or in the form of Ryan Seacrest chatter or on tabloid covers) if she's OUT OF CONTROL with her pregnancy diet, on a
