  • Is This the Best Asian Restaurant in America?

Noah KalinaNoah KalinaThere are some 200,000 full-service restaurants in America, so it's no small task to determine the best ones. A storied Northern California palace of perfection? A counter in Brooklyn where an intimate 24-course tasting menu is prepared by a moody chef? A Texan 'cue shop that sells out of brisket the moment it opens? What factors make one restaurant better than another? Can you compare a roadside burger joint with an urban fine-dining restaurant whose theme changes every few months? And how do all these restaurants stack up against each other in a list of the best?

  • The Best Food Truck in America

Monte MathewsMonte MathewsIn gas station lots, at midtown curbs, and by parks blocks from your office, idling food trucks serve tacos, lobster rolls, burgers, burritos, grilled cheese, pizza, sous-vide dishes, and high-end French food you'll pay $10 or less for. Food trucks leverage lower overhead, brave (mostly) outdated municipal restrictions, random (and targeted) police ticketing, and misdirected ire of insecure brick-and-mortar restaurants who often stir up trouble. Food trucks are far from the latest food trend, but when it comes to great food made quickly (and by the "little guy"), they're one of the best things.

  • The Best Store Bought Fudge Pop

Jane BruceJane BruceThe fudge pop is a pretty interesting frozen treat, when you think about it. It's not exactly an ice cream bar, as it's not exactly frozen chocolate ice cream on a stick. It has a gooier, fudgier consistency than chocolate ice cream, and a different flavor altogether.

In order to impartially rank all these fudge pops, we tasted them all side by side, and rated them on several parameters: texture, chocolate flavor, creaminess, and overall enjoyment factor. A good fudge pop doesn't immediately begin to melt when it's taken out of the freezer, melts evenly when eaten like a lollipop, and retains a little bit of chew when eaten like a candy bar.
