  • Which Kate is Great?

Blonde vs. brunette, glamour girl vs. hipster chic, under 30 vs. over 30, we have Kate Beckinsale battling Kate Bosworth look for look this week?

In the red category, we have this deep burgundy sheath that's almost too simple yet very flattering. I love the color which I think looks great on everyone and the fact that Kate took a break from her usual "goddess" silhouette.

I love me some sequins so this dress is right up my alley except that it's Kate's styling that doesn't work. Somehow, with such a skintight dress, the pulled back hair is too severe and the red dumps in a different shade are too much.

The winner? Kate Beckinsale for being totally put together.

And in the classic B&W category…

Have designers really run out of places to put bows that they're just throwing them on dresses all willy nilly? With the volume of the skirt, it's too much action up front so it should have been giant bow, tight dress or bow-less swingy dress.

  • This Week in Jolie-Pitt Adventures: And a Pony Too?

Sunny days, keeping the crowds away, on my way to where the air is…well, sometimes even the biggest stars just want to hang with the regular folks. Ang took Knox, Pax and Shiloh out for some farmer's market activities. Looks lik Shi's giving Michelle Williams a run on the shortest blond hair in Hollywood.

Looks like Knox doesn't quite get that being a Jolie-Pitt and riding a pony is pretty much as good as it's going to get for a kid his age.

  • Paris Fashion Week: Deutsche Diane

Giving Cameron's Team USA a run for the money, Diane does what we know her for - pose her little heart out in some outlandish creations.

Diane Kruger at the Giambattista Valli fashion show, held at the prestigious Hotel Crillon in Paris, part of Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week

With all the fur and feathers here, there must be some seriously naked animals running around cursing Diane. There are looks for show, of which maybe 3 are actually produced for clients and looks for life, that people actually wear. While this is an undoubtedly beautiful coat? dress? coatdress? it's so flamboyant in its richness that I'm both over and underwhelmed by it. Crazy about the heels though.

    Sidaction Gala Dinner 2012

I wonder if designers put aside their more absurd looks for Diane. If so, she's always game although I wish she wouldn't be. Why would anyone intentionally ruin a lovely dress just to look faux edgy? It's something Stephanie Seymour would have rocked in a 1988 Guns and Roses video and no, that's not a compliment in 2012.

Chanel: Front Row - Paris Fashion Week Haute Couture S/S 2012

Just because it's Chanel doesn't mean it's in good taste. I've always disliked their weird tweed and I

Representing for Team USA, Cam was front and center at Paris Fashion Week, looking really put together and dare I say, ladylike?

Dior: Arrivals - Paris Fashion Week Haute Couture S/S 2012

I would never think of pairing such a sweet dress with gladiator sandals but it's that little bit of spice that keeps everything from looking too "we summer in St. Tropez, how about you?"

Valentino: Front Row - Paris Fashion Week Haute Couture S/S 2012This dress is so summery that it practically skips down the street flinging flowers at passerbys. I am a sucker for any kind of lace and embroidery so this dress just makes me smile. I also feel that the ladylike details soften Cam's supertoned body.

But of all her looks, it's actual the casual one that I'm really into. First of all, I want to rip that jacket right off of her. The play of that with the adorable booties is just right, as is keeping everything else minimal and lean. Funny how with all the couture, it's the simplest look that works the best.

  • Mirror, Mirror on the Wall…

There certaintly isn't any other queen of pop who pops quite like Madonna. She's plugging for her new directorial effort but it's her sartorial efforts that are keeping me entertained. Yes, this dress is over the top but it's since it's Madonna, you kind have a different height definition for "top." Even though the shoulders are crazy, they're sheer so you don't get the feeling of heaviness bearing down. I also love the design of the bodice and how the skirt is so tapered and slim that it doesn't distract you from all the drama on top.

  • J&J: Up Close & Personal

A J&J dress up sighting is a rare event so let's relish.

64th Annual Directors Guild Of America Awards - Arrivals

Is there anyone who works a LBD like Jen? I'm feeling all the gorgeous detailing on brocade and people should really reincorporate thin ankle straps back into red carpet looks because it's tres sexy. As always, her hair and makeup are flawless.

64th Annual Directors Guild Of America Awards - Cocktail Reception

I think this is the coziest and happiest we've ever seen J&J. Although I'm having a hard time focusing away from Justin's eyebrows, I like how genuine this looks, just like any other real couple snapped while chatting together.

  • This Week in Awards Season: Standouts

Kids, awards season is like the Superbowl, the Olympics and Fashion Week all rolled up into one. It is not for the faint of heart, the weak or the untoned. There may be some who will win awards but it's the red carpet score that really counts.

    letterman celebs 110112

I don't care that Kate does only crap movies that I've never seen, the girl knows how to channel movie star glam 24/7. While there's nothing earth-shattering about the dress itself, the interplay of metallics and the superglue fit make it hot.

For the past year, Jessica Chastain's been pushed as the next big thing. That's all good and fine on the acting front but you're nobody until you can represent on the red carpet. Talent? Phooey. It's the shallow end here, baby. Finally, Jessica's delivered a look that's worthy of her hype. I love the corseted top and the embroidered skirt. I just feel that the heavy straps on her heels are too bulky for such a refined look.

People throw around the phrase blonde bombshell too

  • This Week in Awards Season: The Madness Descends

While we like to emphasize the positive in life, there are teachable moments found in the negatives as well. Now that the whirlwind of awards season is here, there are many positives to choose from. And there are some serious negatives that serve as a great lesson of what not to do.

If Carey was a 50 year old ex-Vegas showgirl, this would be a great dress. But for a 25 year old English girl, it's ridiculously over the top. Sometimes, things are a risk because they can look silly and sometimes, they're just silly. This look gave me the giggles and made me want to shimmy, probably not the intended reactions.

17th Annual Critics' Choice Movie Awards - Arrivals

Diane is such a repeat offender that she has her own category, the Kruger. The pleating of this dress is not the problem, it's the odd and unnecessary color combination. The pale yellow halter just stops the whole thing dead in its tracks.

    2012 People's Choice Awards - Red Carpet

Somewhere, there's a deep sea fisherman going "that's exactly the dress I would have designed." It makes me want

  • Lace it Up

For me, there is no better fabric than black lace. You can dress it up, use it as an accent, make it demue or super sexy. It's timeless and there is no look that isn't enhanced by it.

2011 National Board Of Review Awards Gala - Inside Arrivals

You never know what you're going to get from Keira which makes her fun to watch. I adore this dress, which straddles the line between ladylike and naughty so well. I just can't stand the dark tights and heels combo.

    HBO Winter 2012 TCA Panel

I feel like I've seen Nicole in this dress at least five times but I don't care, I still love it. Why is she barefoot? Because even superstars get tired. What's great is that she's still posing as if she's got shoes on. Now that's red carpet training.

17th Annual Critics' Choice Movie Awards - Arrivals

It's not the lace, it's the dress that's a problem. Or actually, the beach coverup masquerading as a red carpet dress. The non-existant draping of this makes it look like a home ec project.

War Horse - UK Premiere - Inside Arrivals

Point at the dress, Will, because it's gorgeous. Kate has really defined this silhouette as her go-to look. It makes

  • Emma Stoned?

Emma, I count on you to keep the red carpet lively. You're one of my go-to girls. But this week's looks have me worried that your fashion cred is in danger this awards season.

17th Annual Critics' Choice Movie Awards - Arrivals

I get the whole "put redheads in green" concept but couldn't we have done better than this dress? It's like oatmeal - there's nothing wrong with it but I still don't want it. Despite the details at the neck, the belt and the odd train, it's still boring.

W Magazine, With Dom Perignon, Celebrates Its Best Performances Issue And The Golden Globes

Oh, dear God, it's getting worse. I don't understand anything that's going on here. It's awful colors, strange embellishments and the hem looks like it was cut with a kid's scissors. I've been looking forward to Emma's creativity during awards season but this looks like a chemically induced nightmare.

2011 National Board Of Review Awards Gala - Inside Arrivals

That's better. It's not like I'm excited beyond all words for this look but at least it's a real look. Interesting detailing on the bodice, hot shoes - it's like Emma's coming back.

And we've lost her again. On the plus side,
