  • Maria Sharapova: Couture on the Court?

Maria Sharapova in NikeMaria Sharapova in NikeMaria Sharapova, noted tennis player and sex symbol, lost at day one of the Austrailian Open this past weekend. But her performance was more overshadowed by what she was wearing!

Maria opted to wear Nike Golden Set Women's Tennis Dress .

Nike decribes it as: "[a] winning look [that] features a printed mesh cover dress that splits up the center and a coordinating, solid-colored jersey dress underneath. The cover dress features a racerback and V-neckline outlined in delicate ruffles, while the inner dress has adjustable, meant-to-be-seen straps so you can fine-tune your fit. Built-in support in the bust lends comfort and a great fit."

While I don't play tennis, and don't know the tennis dress etiquette. I think this would be a cute dress to play in and the overlay gives it a less sporty, more flirty look. I LIKE IT!

Many critics didn't like and went on to say such mean things as:

Busted Racquet: "The chiffon-thingy makes her look like The Little Mermaid circa 1968.

  • Dead Winter Days= Dreaming of Spring Feet!

We are now in the dark days of winter, where the fun and anticipation of holidays is over, and now we anxiously wait for spring. I love my boots and tights; I really and truly do. My collection is perfect and I wear either, or both almost everyday. But deep down inside, my feet are already itching for spring and summer shoes!

Pretty painted toe nails, sumptuous sandals, cute flip-flops, killer wedges! *sigh* I'm especially looking forward to wedges. I happen to be getting married and honeymooning this spring. My mind is wandering with all the pretty wedges I want to wear to wander around some tropical locale!

I'm slowly thinking of a check list to the kind I need:

    • White cork
    • Black Wood
    • Brown/bronzy
    • A fun colorful pair

Shoes and packing are a painful topic for me, since I usually want to take all of them and should probably only take 3 at most. I like wedges the best. Since I'm pretty short, the height is always the biggest plus, and the solid base

  • My face + Kiehl's= Frenemies!

When I recieved the Kielhs Ultra Facial Cream, I literally jumped up and down like little girl! I read all the Gossip Girl books and one of the "luxury" brands they use is Kielhs. Hence, I was super excited to try whatever was inside and have an expensive beauty experience!

So here's a little about the Ultra Facial Creme: "Our formula is made with Antarcticine-a Glycoprotein extracted from microorganisms sourced from sea glaciers and notable for an ability to protect skin from cold temperatures-as well as Imperata Cylindrica, a plant indigenous to the Australian desert which possesses superb water retention properties in dry conditions. Our unique combination of ingredients helps reduce moisture loss while drawing and absorbing moisture from the air. With continuous water replenishment throughout the day, skin is smooth, healthy-looking, and "moisture-even." []

On the package, it mentions how it was developed for workers in Antartica! (My thoughts, gotta be amazing!)

  • Hair Rut? Two easy, quick solutions!

This week I've felt like I have been in a hair RUT! The cold air already sucks the moisture out of my hair enough without blowdrying or straightening, so I've been trying to layoff the heating tools. Well this has resulted in air -dried, wavy in spots, thrown back with a headband or ponytail hot mess of a hairdo. And I must say, if you have bad hair, it can kind of dictate your mood, and your self confidence level. Hence, mine has been low.

While watching "Tough Love" on VH1 last night, right before I went to bed, I saw contestant Liz rocking a cute wavy style that made me think "MUST TRY" before showering. I did it!

After I showered, I used my normal Infusium 23 leave-in conditioner spray all over, and Redken Body Full Volume Amplifier spray to my roots.

Bed Head Dual Barrel Waver Bed Head Dual Barrel Waver This time I also added about 15 sprays all over of Garnier Fructis Wonder Waves Wave Enhancing Spray . This stuff is amazing! It is slowly making me love my wavy hair! I stumbled upon it one day in Walmart. (If you have

  • User post: Trends or Basics?

This morning on E!'s Daily 10, they ran a segment called New Year, New You. It was all about Spring 2010 trends. They included motorcycle boots, and a white motorcycle jacket. I usually love segments like this but today it rubbed me the wrong way. I love to be a trendy as the next girl. But I don't need to go out and buy motorcycle boots just be considered trendy. I'm a basics lover! I'd rather save some of my money and buy an awesome classic piece I can wear for years and years. Instead of a trend list, lets take a look at some of the best Basics lists!how-to-design-a-his-and-her-closet-2how-to-design-a-his-and-her-closet-2

The Ten Essential Wardrobe Elements as devised by Tim Gunn
    1. Basic Black Dress - The basic black dress has been around for a long time. It is often called the "Little Black Dress", and it's true that shorter skirts on the basic black dress, when they hit you in the right place, can be more flattering than a long black dress.
    2. Trench Coat - The trench coat is one of the pieces that is both classic and currently a hot

  • What are you wearing today? Xmas Eve Eve Edition

Let's play a Christmas Eve EVE edition of , What are you wearing today?

I have a few more hours left of work and had to dress up a bit today, but decided to make it fun. I'm channeling a little bit of the 80's . I have on an Old Navy blue jean jacket (with sleeves rolled up) with a black tank underneath with a Target silvery/grey and cream polka-dotted skirt that has tulle peeking out the bottom with Cato black suede booties. My bangs are in a pouf with my hair in a low side pony. I have on 2 necklaces of pearl/metal combo, one knotted, one double looped with minimal makeup and red lips! See, '80s !

You: What are you wearing today??

Merry Christmas, everyone! Have a great 4 day weekend! I'll be back next week!

  • User post: Christmas Day Style-quick and easy!

Is anyone else stumped what to wear on Christmas? I am! Going to multiple families, cooking, eating, standing, sitting, opening presents= the need for a breathable, comfy outfit. Here's the breakdown:

    • Look festive (without wearing anything tacky)
    • Look cute (duh!)
    • Look put together (not like I just woke up and/or sloppy)
    • Be Comfortable (playing with little kids, I need to be able to be on the floor)

    • To be warm (for possible outside activities)
    • Comfy (no stiff fabrics allowed)
    • Not tight fitting (allows room for stomach to expand)
    • Covers all essential parts (no butt/boob cleavage in front of relatives)
    • Appropriate dress code (no under/over dressing, makes for awkwardness)

I'm not going to buy anything new, since I need to buy a few last minute gifts, plus it is more fun to buy for others anyway.

So let's do a little shopping of our closets this week.

My favorite inventory includes comfy sweaters, and cardigans,
