  • Hair Straightener That's Hot for Winter by Umberto Beverly Hills

Health & Beauty: Winter hair got you down? Umberto Beverly Hills knows there is no longer a need to worry about frizzy hair if you have the ICU ionic ceramic styler on hand.

Recently introduced, the flat iron eliminates the need to own a variety of styling tools to straighten, curl or create waves. Unlike most flat irons, the edges of the plates on the styler are not protected so take extra caution when coming near scalp and skin.

This styler makes straightening hair a breeze-simply comb out a 2-section of dry hair and start at the roots. Place the hair between the plates and shut the handle, slowly gliding the iron from the root to the end.

Some people may not realize a flat iron can also be used to add some curls to hair. It's as easy as placing the hair on the plates and rotating the iron a quarter turn so the hair bends over the rounded edges of the plates. It's almost as easy as curling a ribbon with a pair of scissors.

Created by stylist Umberto Savone, the styler is

  • Food and Spirits: This story actually starts more than 700 years ago in Scotland , when a member of the Clan Mackenzie saved the king from being gored by a Highland stag. The kingly reward was that Colin Mackenzie was granted royal permission to use the stag's head in the Mackenzie coat of arms.

In 1867, the Mackenzies took ownership of the Dalmore distillery, and operated it with distinction for more than a century. The stag emblem continues to embrace the noble qualities of the spirit and appears on every bottle of The Dalmore.

Much of the bespoke qualities of The Dalmore's color, aroma, and flavor come from using combinations of the distillery's extraordinary array of wooden casks previously used to age wines from Spain , France, Portugal, Italy, and Madeira, along with whiskey from America. Under the deft hand (and nose!) of Master Distiller Richard Paterson, the inimitable profile of The Dalmore develops. Ranging from voluptuous and soft, to sweet and spicy, the symphony of

  • Designer Fall Fashion 2010-2011: Flash Forward

Fashion & Style: It's about that time to start arranging our closets for winter wear. If you are anything like me, it is a must to have a flash forward look at what's to come in fashion. As I observed the 2010 New York Fashion Week, I found that there are several trends that simply dominated the runway. For starters, Diane Von Furstenberg and Vera Wang reintroduced an old favorite of mine, velvet at its best. There was then fur, my all-time favorite by another top designer by the name of Altuzarra.

Alexander Wang showcased short dresses, yes ladies even for the winter season. My suggestion would be to add embellished tights. Lastly, BCBG Max and Michael Kors showcased an array of layered outfits. I hope this helps you all in search for winter attire. Stay warm and beautiful.
