  • Wine Tasting Etiquette

    Tasting wine has an etiquette all its own. Whether you're at a winery or wine bar the rules pretty much are the same. Expect to pay for the tasting. Free wine tasting seems to be a thing of the past, but on occasion you can still find a free tasting or two. The price will be somewhere between $1-$30 per person. Sometimes you will receive a souvenir glass, other times not. Sometimes you'll be standing at the tasting bar, other times you will be seated. Often you can share your tasting with another guest, ask your server.

    I'd like to stress the word wine tasting here. Wineries and wine bars love to share samples of their wine with you. Do not expect or ask for full pours. Most provide about a one or two ounce pour. Typical tastings cover one to six varieties, depending on what is available in the facility's inventory. Take your time.   • Dolce & Gabbana Celebrates Fashion's Night Out With Justin Bieber

    After last night's Dolce&Gabbana event, it's safe to say that New York's fashion circuit has officially come down with a new case of Bieber fever. The adorable pop star, along with Scooter Braun, celebrated Fashion's Night Out by playing host at what proved to be one of the most talked about events of the evening.

    Bieber and Braun were joined by a star-studded event committee of celebrity duos, including the likes of Ingrid Vandebosch and Jeff Gordon, Thierry Henry and Tyson Beckford, Kelly Rutherford and Matthew Settle, Erica and L.A. Reid, and Lauren Santo Domingo and Tatiana Santo Domingo.

    The party, which celebrated the pre-launch of the brand's Passion Duo lipstick, featured music by DJ Ruckus and Hannah Bronfman, a special performance by Asher Roth, and refreshments by Martini & Rossi and Voss Water.

    Dark lip color makes your lips appear smaller and more defined, lighter colors will make them appear larger.

    Blast your eyelash curler with hot air from your hair dryer for 5-10 seconds before using to enhance curling power.

    Soften lip and eye pencils under warm water and wipe dry with a tissue allowing for smoother application.

    Bronzer should only go where the sun hits your face: nose, forehead, chin and apples of the cheeks.

    Concealer should be applied right about 1/2 inch below the bottom lash line. Light reflects upward, so this will brighten dark circles.

    Apply mascara to the base of the lash line as well as the tips. If applied only to the tips, beautifully curled lashes will fall under the weight. Blush should be dabbed on the apples and blended outwards with fingertips. Contouring products should be two shades darker then the color of your blush.
