  • Faux Fur Pieces to Keep You Warm All Winter

    by Alison Syrett Cleary

Of all the ladies who work in Lucky's digital division, I'm the only one who won't wear real fur. Now, please know that doesn't mean I fume when my coworkers enter the office swathed in genuine mink or fox, or that I secretly fantasize about dumping paint on them à la PETA. And I'm not going to judge you for owning the real deal, either. I get it: animal pelts are some of the toastiest fabrics around, and damn, it is freezing outside right now.

Really, the only reason I haven't fallen prey to genuine fur's downy soft siren song this especially bone-chilling winter (ugh, polar vortex!) is that the alternatives out there are just as enticing. As you'll see from the 33 faux pieces I've gathered above, imitations no longer look and feel like '90s troll doll hair; each one's cozy, cute and warm enough to impress anyone, however she feels about fur. I'm not saying you have to relinquish that vintage chinchilla chubby your grandmother gave you or stop saving for a

Victoria Beckham closing out her fall 2014 runway show.Victoria Beckham closing out her fall 2014 runway show.
Fresh of off showing her well-reviewed Fall 2014 collection during New York Fashion Week, designer and businesswoman Victoria Beckham graced the stages of the brand-spanking-new John L. Tishman Auditorium at Parsons last night for a question-and-answer session with the school's dean (and fellow Brit) Simon Collins. I didn't think it was possible to love the former Posh Spice any more than I already do, but last night proved me wrong. Victoria, of course, looked drop-dead chic in a tuxedo pantsuit and her trademark sky-high stilettos, and she was just so sweet, humble and charming-and best of all, funny.

The energy was palpable in the room as ecstatic fashion students waited in anticipation for the pop-star-turned-legit designer to share some insight on her success and just maaaaybe talk about the Spice Girls (which, yes, happened). During the student Q&A, a couple of kids blurted out openers of "oh my god, I've been

  • 12 Awesome Gift Ideas for People Who Hate Valentine's Day

    by Fawnia Soo Hoo

Valentine's Day is just a few days away but let's be honest, not everyone gets excited about the sappy, love-saturated occasion. Maybe the date is rubbing salt in fresh wounds. And why do we need The Man to compel us to celebrate our love for one another when we should be doing that 365 days a year? Plus, it is a really annoying time to score a restaurant reservation and order a la carte (what's up with that, restaurants?). BUT in the spirit of the occasion, even a Valentine's Day Scrooge deserves a little love in the form of a gift. So we have 12 perfect ideas for you, all guaranteed to put a smile on any curmudgeonly, V-Day-hating face and maybe change that grumpy mind for when February 14, 2015 rolls around.

Last night, Jenna Lyons made her much-anticipated, snarkily chic premiere as Hannah's boss in the sixth episode of Girls' Season 3. Following a month of speculation, the iconic J.Crew president and creative director played an editor at GQ Magazine, a job which Hannah holds-and refreshingly, seems to succeed at-despite it not being her ideal place of employment. By now, we've all watched and rewatched the show's Season 3 trailer enough times to know Jenna says to Hannah, "I see you've found the snack room," a wonderfully snide comment which happens to be reflected in the title of the episode: "Free Snacks."

With two episodes including Jenna's guest-starring role still to come, we're starting to wonder what Lena Dunham-the show's writer and star-has in store for this straight-talking GQ editrix. But one thing's for sure: She will most definitely be keeping her clothes on,

  • The Daring Pastel Eye Look You Need to Try This Spring

    By Megan O'Neill

A smoky eye might seem an odd choice for spring, but at the Armani spring 2014 show, where it was shown in shimmery greens and gleaming violets, it looked fresh and incredibly feminine. The shadows were a new sort of pastel-intense, vibrant and full of glamour.

Influenced by Monet's watercolors-not to mention the efflorescent clothes-Giorgio Armani Beauty international makeup artist Linda Cantello made the bold look more delicate (and easier to do) by smoothing on the shadow with her fingers. "I applied the color underneath-like a reverse smoky eye-to make it softer and shy," she says.

Cantello blended the pigments with a touch of liquid highlighter to create creamier texture and finished with a light dusting on the upper lid-no mascara. Inspired, we've been experimenting with every sort of pastel, from Armani's chic, finely milled pale green to a chunky-sparkly wet/dry pink from Stila that could not be more fun to wear-truly, you might say, beyond the pale.

  • Marc Jacobs on Showing in Paris, a Major Name Change and Everything Miley Cyrus

When speculation turned to confirmation that Marc Jacobs was to be leaving his creative directorship at Louis Vuitton, our first thought wasn't exactly, "Wow, he's going to have so much time now!" Because even as he bids adieu to what was sure to have been an enormous obligation, the iconic, 50-year-old designer has a plenty of other projects on his plate, including his own namesake line and its more wallet-friendly, streetwear sister label, Marc by Marc Jacobs. But regardless, change is in the air for Marc come 2014, and he has a few surprising plans up his sleeve-all of which he discussed in detail in a feature by David Amsden in W Magazine's March issue. While the entirety of the profile is certainly worth the full read, we went through it so you don't have to, picking out the most noteworthy quotes that give us mere mortals an idea of what Marc has in store with his newfound "free time."

    by Christa Lee

MAC Cosmetics and fashion have always gone hand in hand. And this season, they'll be supporting over 200 shows. But no matter how many times we go backstage, we never get sick of seeing (and digging through!) the makeup experts' "artistry kits", which are basically like the Holy Grail of makeup bags. • Did Eva Mendes and Ryan Gosling Break Up?

    by Maura Brannigan

Courtesy of Getty ImagesCourtesy of Getty Images
We have some good and bad news for you: Ryan Gosling may or may not be single. Before we let you get started on plotting an elaborate gesture to win his affection, let us be the ones to break it to you easy that Ryan's singledom is by no means confirmed. Yesterday, both InTouch and Life & Style Weekly reported Ryan Gosling, 33, and his lady love Eva Mendes, 39, had split up over Christmas after more than two years together-which, you can imagine, sent Girl World into a certified frenzy.

"They just knew it was time," a source told Life & Style Weekly, while an InTouch source said, "There is no ill will."

But then, Eva's rep denied the hearsay to E! News, calling them "just another round of rumors." Despite the rejection, the split wouldn't have been the most surprising shift in Hollywood right now. After all, the two aforementioned tabloids attributed the breakup to a "difference in priorities," and, well, the two hadn't been seen
