The Kind of Mom I Want to Be: 10 Things I'm Striving ForParenting is a hands-on job (understatement!) and it can be easy to get so caught up in the daily and hourly tasks - diaper changes! baths! another meal! - that I can lose sight of my overarching parenting goals.
As I was getting ready for the start of a new year, I spent a little time thinking about the kind of mom I want to be and made a list of the things that are most important to me.
I've been amazed at how helpful just writing these down has been, helping me focus on what really matters to me as a parent. Here are the 10 characteristics I'm working on this year:
#1: Not in a Rush
My personality tends toward running at full-speed most of the time, but it's clear to me that my girls HATE being rushed, so I'm trying to take life a little slower and let them explore the world at their own pace.
