  • Banana Face Exfoliate Mask Recipe

    Use this banana face exfoliating mask recipe to gently ease the damage winter does to your skin.


    Mush up two overripe bananas.
    Add a little honey.
    Add 1/2 a cup of uncooked oatmeal.
    Leave on your face for 10 minutes.


    This will gently exfoliate your face to brighten your complexion. Banana has vitamins A and E which are both beneficial.

  • Holiday Cookie Recipe: Brownie Cookies

    These delicious treats are perfect for chocolate cravings.

    Try out these delicious treats without the guilt! These are the perfect cookie swap recipe, especially if you have a friend with gluten or dairy issues.


    1/2 cup non-dairy butter, softened
    1 1/2 cups raw sugar
    1/2 banana, mashed
    2 teaspoons real vanilla extract
    2 cups oat flour
    2/3 cup cocoa powder
    3/4 teaspoon baking soda
    1/4 teaspoon salt
    2 cups semisweet chocolate chips


    Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

    In a large bowl, beat the butter, sugar, banana and vanilla extract with a hand mixer until light and fluffy.

    In a separate bowl, combine the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt. Stir in the chocolate chips. Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls onto ungreased baking sheets.

    Bake for 8 to 10 minutes, or just until set. Cool slightly on the baking sheets before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.

  • Spicy Bleu Cheese Chicken Burger Recipe

    Try this burger tonight - any cook can tackle this simple recipe!

    Spicy Bleu Cheese Chicken Burger

    If you're looking for a fun meal that anyone can cook (even your significant other who claims they can't boil water), you've found it. This burger will have everyone asking for seconds, and it's sure to please even the most picky eaters.


    1 pound ground chicken
    1/2 cup crumbled bleu cheese
    1/4 cup whole wheat breadcrumbs
    1/4 cup hot sauce, your choice
    1 handful chopped green onion
    1/2 teaspoon garlic salt and pepper for seasoning
    4 whole wheat hamburger buns
    Non-stick spray or pan for cooking


    Gently mix all ingredients together in a medium bowl by hand.

    Separate into 4 equal patties and grill in a non-stick pan (or in a pan sprayed with non-stick spray) over medium heat for 4-5 minutes per side.

    Serve on toasted hamburger buns with your favorite toppings, such as lettuce, tomato, and onion!

    Takeout at Home: Pad

    Try this Pad Thai for a quick and easy comfort food dish.

    Makes 4 servings


    1 package of Asian rice noodles
    1 tablespoon soy sauce or tamari
    1 clove garlic, minced
    1/2 teaspoon chili paste
    1/2 teaspoon minced fresh ginger
    1/2 teaspoon fish sauce
    1/2 teaspoon honey, warmed so it is soft
    1/2 teaspoon fresh lime juice
    1/2 teaspoon toasted sesame oil
    1/4 teaspoon salt
    1/4 teaspoon black pepper
    2 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro
    1 1/2 tablespoons chopped cashews


    Cook and drain the rice noodles according to the package directions. Set aside.

    In a small bowl, combine the soy sauce, garlic, chili paste, ginger, fish sauce, honey, lime juice, sesame oil, salt, and pepper. Whisk until blended and pour over noodles. Toss to coat, top with cilantro and cashews.

    Q: With the holiday season fast approaching, do you think it is okay to re-gift?

    A: For certain things, I would say yes. But if you receive something like a hideous sweater that you hate, don't pass it along to get rid of it.

    If you have received several bottles of wine, there is no need to buy a new one for a gift, but I would personalize it for the recipient. Combine the wine with his or her favorite treats like chocolates, cookies, and a basket to make the gift more special. Add a personal note and it will be perfect, and you don't have to feel guilty about re-gifting.

    If you're only gifting because you feel obligated, then I'd advise you not to; you don't need to run up your credit cards even more. A gracious "thank you" should do. If she's really your pal, she'll understand.

    5. Do I have 3 things in my closet right now that will match this?

    If you can't answer all of those questions, then you shouldn't buy whatever you're currently thinking about buying. Now, we're not saying that you shouldn't indulge, but these tips will help you curb buying when you don't really need something.

    Build this fun gift with your kids as a quick and easy way to "use what you have" this holiday!

    This is a great gift for anyone on your list and a fun project to do with your kids!


    Any clean jar you have available
    Hot cocoa Mix
    Miniature marshmallows
    Chocolate chips
    Candy canes
    Ribbon and straws


    Place 1/2-1 cup serving of cocoa mix in bottom of jar

    Crush up leftover candy canes and place on top of cocoa mix

    Place chocolate chips on top of that

    Marshmallows on top of that

    Place jar top on

    Tie the straw with ribbon around the jar

    When ready to serve, pour 1-2 cups of hot milk or water over it and shake!
