  • Beyonce is Not Solange's Mom and Other Celebrity Conspiracy Theories

Beyoncé and her younger sister (not daughter) Solange. (Photo: Getty Images)Over the weekend, someone breathed new life into a tired rumor from 2011 claiming that Solange is actually Beyonce’s daughter and not her younger sister. Mmkay. We'll debunk these, along with other weird celebrity conspiracy theories out there.

    Solange is actually Beyonce’s daughter
According to Wikipedia, Beyonce was born in 1981 and Solange in 1986. That means Beyonce would have given birth at age five. Right. Some back this claim by saying that Bey was actually born in 1974, making her 37 and a more plausible 14-year-old when she had Solange (and because Beyoncé is close to her nephew, that means he's actually her grandson). However, video footage of Beyonce performing as a youngster indicates that she was born in 1981 and home videos of the family in her documentary “Life is but a Dream,” show Solange and Beyonce as children together. So there.

  • Hilary Mantel Defends her 'Plastic' Comments about Kate Middleton

Plastic Princess? (Photo: Getty Images)Remember when novelist Hilary Mantel referred to Kate Middleton as “a shop window mannequin, with no personality of her own” and the whole world seemed outraged? Mantel finally responded to the uproar.

"I have absolutely nothing to apologize for,” she told the BBC Radio’s Night Waves program. “It was a matter of taking the words completely out of context—twisting the context—and setting me up as a hate figure,” she said. “I have absolutely no regrets. What I said was crystal clear.”

Mantel's original incendiary remarks are from a speech called “Royal Bodies,” which was published as an essay in the London Review of Books in February.

Mantel’s piece is about the purpose of the monarchy. In it, she compares Kate Middleton to Marie Antoinette. “I saw Kate becoming a jointed doll on which certain rags are hung. In those days she was a shop-window mannequin, with no personality of her own, entirely defined by what she wore.”

She also describes the difference between Kate and Princess

  • "Drop Dead Diva" is Back After Outcry from Devastated Fans

The cast of Drop Dead Diva (Photo: Lifetime)After a massive public outcry from fans that involved Facebook pleas, tribute videos, signed petitions and more, Lifetime has brought their popular television show "Drop Dead Diva" back from the grave after cancelling it in January.

One video made a moral appeal to the network: “It’s not right to get fans invested for a fourth season and leave them with that kind of an ending. I believe Lifetime cares about its viewers/supporters. Please don’t prove me wrong!”

Now these frustrated fans can rest easy—on March 1, Lifetime announced they will be bringing the show back for a fifth season. At the time this article was written, the official announcement on Facebook had received over 50,000 likes.

So why has this show become such a phenomenon? Well, for one, it stars Margaret Cho in a supporting role, and we’d watch her in just about anything.

The plot goes something like this: Aspiring model Deb dies in a car crash and is reincarnated in the body of high-powered lawyer Jane, a woman who is not

  • Taylor Swift covers Vanity Fair's March issue. (Photo: Vanity Fair)Taylor Swift has some strong opinions about her ex-boyfriends. But she's also got some feelings about her fellow female celebrity peers

In a web excerpt from the latest issue of Vanity Fair, she appears to take issue with two of TV's most beloved female comics.

Here's the excerpt of the article: “You know, Katie Couric is one of my favorite people,” Taylor Swift tells Vanity Fair contributing editor Nancy Jo Sales on the subject of mean girls in general and in response to an incident at this year’s Golden Globes, where Amy Poehler and Tina Fey mocked her highly scrutinized love life. “Because she said to me she had heard a quote that she loved, that said, ‘There’s a special place in hell for women who don’t help other women.’”

Is this a dis (as Salon suggests) or an out-of-context quote sparking made-up lady feuds? It's hard to know. But here's what we could trace: the origin of this so-called "incident."

It turns out that Fey already made an apology. The Golden Globes were a
