  • The Ugliest (and Most Popular) Summer Shoes

We're drawing sandal inspiration from soccer moms, science geeks and hippies this season - ugly is in. Leandra Medine of the Man Repeller couldn't have said it any better: "It was only a matter of time before looking like a stork could no longer be rendered en vogue." So long stilettos and hello sandals. But if this seems like common sense because after all, sandals are consistent with summer - don't kid yourself. We aren't talking about the standard, floral, feminine, or even gladiator flats, if you will. Couture designers like Celine, Lanvin, Marni and Miu Miu are paying homage to retro sandal styles with mannish, flat and funky kicks á la Birkenstocks, Tevas and Adidas shower shoes. While their sex appeal and aesthetic value may be questionable, these godforsaken "sole-sisters" have one thing in common: "They all have the same brand profile. People love to hate them and hate to love them," according to Meghan Cleary, footwear expert and author of Shoe Are You? Pretty ugly or pretty,

  • Viral Video: Baby Swims Better Than Most Adults

A YouTube video of an aquatic tot named Elizabeth has resurfaced and her amazing swimming abilities are stirring up controversy, after CNN ran a story Monday on the little girl.

The one-minute long video was posted on YouTube in late 2012 and captures a then 16-month-old Elizabeth confidently swimming back and forth in a pool as an adult off-camera encourages her to "go, go, go!" And go she does. The baby made it across the pool in just one breath. When she got tired, she simply rolled over onto her back and took a breather like any other trained swimmer.

As of Monday, the video had garnered almost 900,000 views and a lot of mixed opinions. "Beautiful baby. She will be a smart girl," wrote Alex Castro. "This scares me on so many levels," wrote Michelle Alzo. And, "She swims better than me," wrote Maid Premium

Father Adam wrote on the YouTube page: "Just so everyone knows, I am a registered nurse and my wife was a lifeguard for six years and taught swimming for three. Not only are we Read More »from Viral Video: Baby Swims Better Than Most Adults

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge at the annual Trooping the Colour Ceremony.July 13. That's supposed to be the Duchess Kate Middleton's due date. Only it's not.

After the rumored due date was first published by the Daily Mail back in May, it somehow became an unconfirmed fact. We figured we better call the Palace just to make sure.

"We have said July and the Duchess said mid-July," a spokesperson for Kensington Palace told Yahoo! Shine on Wednesday. "The media decided it was July 13. We never confirmed an exact date."

    So there you have it.

The source for the supposed due date was a "friend" of the royal couple. According to the Daily Mail, the "friend" who attended a barbecue hosted by the royal family revealed: "They were all discussing the fact that Kate's baby is due to be born on July 13.'"

Other major media outlets have picked up on this date since then.

Journalists, photographers, bloggers and other royal family fans have become fixated on July 13. The impact will be huge. For one, July 13 falls smack in the middle of the Four Day Coronation Festival in
