  • Your Summer Clothing Fabric Cheat-Sheet

Summer weather is already here, and while we're all psyched for the perpetually warmer temperature ahead after a tough Winter, pretty soon it's inevitable that the heat, humidity will leave us feeling, well... less than fresh.

We spoke to Chrissy Volk, wardrobe consultant for Adahlia Volk, who has put together a cheat-sheet for navigating through the coolest, most breathable fabrics for the season.

Who ever looks at clothing "ingredient" listings on the tag? Well, this season think of it as your guide to keeping cool.

    Denim Do's...

Best Summer Denim Blends: Chrissy suggests denim with a high cotton, and small synthetic content to keep you cooler in the heat. A jean with either a 98% cotton-2% lycra or 96% cotton-4% lycra are great combinations. Joe's Jeans, Seven For all Mankind, Citizens of Humanity and Gap all offer this type of blend!

    Tees and Tanks...

Softest Tees: Cotton tees and tanks are favored in the summer time because they are so breathable. Look for pima and supima

  • Trend to Try: Makeup That Chemically Boosts Your Mood?

Put down the Prozac and get ready to become irresistible to the opposite sex - the newest beauty products on the market claim to boost mood and create instant sex appeal with just the swipe of the brush and rub of the finger.

The Euphoryl™ Ω-3 concentrate created by Laboratoires Sérobiologiques and present in the majority of "happy cosmetic" products on the market, claims to stimulate the production of dopamine, a natural neurotransmitter which helps evoke feelings of pleasure and happiness, and results in actual skin beautification.

Another trend? Pheromones infused into lotions, body washes and lipstick that promise to increase sex appeal and human seduction through a biological (and in this case lab-created!) chemical reaction.

But could it really be that synthetically manufactured endorphins, dopamine and pheromones in some of the newest creams and potions actually aids in chemically altering our mood? We spoke to a few professionals.

"It could work," explains cosmetic chemist,

We are unrelenting in dressing up, flicking and fluttering our lashes so it's no wonder top beauty brands continue to dispatch a bevy of newfangled devices and products that help lengthen, define and costume them to the nines.

From a semi-permanent fix, to spinning wands and paint on fiber extensions, here's what recently caught our...errr eye!

    360 DEGREES OF LASH STYLING

Newest to the market - Dior's DiorShow 360 Mascara ($36), the first ever volume-boosting, lengthening and curling mascara with a spinning wand.

This mascara mimics a makeup artist's application technique for a perfect 360-degree lash styling effect. The ultra-plump double-helix brush rotates in both directions to adapt to every need, whether you're left- or right-handed or you want to pump up upper or lower lashes.

As a fan of the original DiorShow (the formula becomes slightly thicker and keeps improving week after week after having air pumped in), we're psyched to give this a go but cautious that the

  • Backstage Beauty: Nail Polish Ring Bands at Vena Cava A/W 2011

Finger Bands at Vena Cava A/W 2011Finger Bands at Vena Cava A/W 2011The inspiration for hair and makeup at Vena Cava's A/W 2011 show was rock 'n' roll and androgeny. The muse: Fiona Apple. "The makeup serves as an accessory," explained MAC Cosmetics Lead Makeup Artist Christian McCulloch, "it's a jewel sparking from the darkness of the mostly black collection and the daring look of long night out."

But what else did we love? Grunge-inspired finger bands courtesy of Nonie Crème for Butter London. She kept the fingernail bare, with just a coat of clear polish, then freehand painted rings of polish onto the model's fingers. Nonie used five different colors, Union Jack Black, Tramp Stamp (a golden-brown color), Royal Navy, Scoundrel (a purple mauve shade), and a neon orange lab sample color to be released soon.

Get The Look: Expand your nail canvas with this trend by sticking to vegan and chemical-free polishes. Swipe a bit of acetone on your fingers to remove oils. For a rough, rugged look, freehand rings in complementary colors in the area between
