  • And the Oscar Makeup Predictions Are In! A Celeb Make-up Artist Gives Me the Scoop!

Oscar night is almost here and if you're like me, the red carpet is the highlight of the night! The beauty and fashion world is abuzz with what celebs might be wearing, how they're wearing their hair, and of course how their makeup will look! So what do the beauty experts predict? Well celeb make up artist Christopher Drummond (who has worked with the likes of Jennifer Lopez, Kimora Lee Simmons, and January Jones) gave me the inside scoop to what his make up predictions are for Oscar night!

Eyes: Of course, the smoky look will be big as it always is for the red carpet. It is the "go to" look for celebrities when they want to look glamorous and dramatic. However, this year, I predict the smoky look will be accented with a lot of shimmery metals: bronze, gold, and silver. Also on the eyes: a focus on luxurious lashes and liner focused on the top on the eyes.

    Color:
Will also be predominant on the eyes - but not heavy color. Light, whimsical shades such as pale blue,

  • User post: Spring is in the Air! What to Shop For and How to Rock the Latest Trends

Marc by Marc JacobsMarc by Marc Jacobs

Spring is here ladies and whether the weather agrees with me or not, just the thought of trading in those sweaters for girly dresses can warm your heart! Just for you ladies, I got the scoop from Tanesha Smith, Bluefly's resident stylist. She shared with me what's hot (and what's not!) and how to look fab this Spring!

MJ: What are some of the new fashion trends for Spring that we ladies should be shopping for? What tips can you give to make sure rock these trends the right way?

TS: It may seem counter-intuitive for spring, but leather is all over the place! Shorts, leggings, and skirts in light weight leathers are the #1 way to show you know what time it is. Head-to-toe denim is a good look too -- just be sure to mix your washes. Speaking of denim, light washes and marble washes are musts.

Military and uniform details like epaulets, pockets, and snaps -- which historically signal structure and order -- somehow feel right for spring's slouchy relaxed vibe.

  • “It’s a 10” Leave-in Conditioner: A Hair Product Recommendation

A good friend of mine put me on to this product a few weeks ago when she went to the salon. Her stylist recommended a product to her and called me as soon as she got out of the salon, raving about it. What she bought was "It's a 10" leave in conditioner. To be honest, I never heard of it before. So I did some quick research and read nothing but good things about it! What she liked about it was that it helped detangle her hair, cut her blow drying time in half, gave her hair shine, smelled really good and had her hair looking really healthy!

I checked out the brand's website and these are the 10 results they claim one would get from using this leave in conditioner:

    Repair dry damaged hair

    Add shine

    Smooths and controls frizz

    Seals and protects hair color

Flat Iron Spray and thermal protector

    Detangles

    Stops hair breakage

    Creates silkiness

    Enhances natural body

    Prevents split ends

She has been using it every time she washes her hair and

  • What’s My Beauty Obsession?? Take a Wild Guess….

After coming clean with my fashion obsession, Yahoo Shine kept the ball rolling with our new Beauty Guru assignment - expose our beauty obsessions. Granted when I first was posed with this, I took a little time to think about it. But when I got home and opened my bathroom drawer, scoped out my medicine cabinet, rearranged my bathroom counter, and oh that basket under my sink, my obsession became pretty apparent: Hair Products

    I know…so left field right??

My hair is oh so spoiled so it needs the right amount of everything to keep it healthy and beautiful. And being the girl that I am, I love to have options! I just can't help myself when I get to the hair aisle in any store! From conditioners and moisturizers to cute hair clips to the latest curling or flat irons, I can go a little crazy!

I think my obsession started as a young girl trying to keep up with the latest styles. I could never go to the salon to get my hair done so I had to learn how to do the latest

  • ProSilk is a Plus!: ProSilk Gold Series Flat Iron and Silk Serum

I'll admit that I've always been a curling iron kinda girl. I bought one flat iron many years ago and only use it whenever the mood strikes me. I honestly bought it a bit too big for my shoulder length hair and I didn't like the fried feeling it left on my hair. When the got the opportunity to review this 1 inch flat iron from ProSilk, I felt it wouldn't hurt to give this flat iron thing another go (and give my curling iron a break!) I also used ProSilk's Silk Serum prior to flat ironing my hair.

The first thing I really liked about this flat iron was that it had a nice velvet cover on top, keeping the heat away from your fingers and making it comfortable to hold. Another plus was the heat control. Instead of having just two settings (Hi and Low) like my other flat iron, you can control the heat in by degrees in temperature. To help you figure out just how hot you need it, the box breaks it down to showing you what temp you should use it on according to your hair type. Once it

  • Off the Cuff…Bracelet That is!

One evening during New York Fashion Week, I was checking out Rachel Zoe's collection on QVC and when I saw this cuff bracelet (Pictured above) I was automatically in love! If my wedding wasn't in two months, I would've been on the phone, credit card in hand! I was never a big fan of bracelets only because its hard to find one that actually fits my wrist comfortably. I would think a cuff bracelet may be the way to go with the funky wrists I have! So after seeing that lovely, piece of accessory art, I had to scour the net to find some great cuff bracelets that I can get my hands on and add to my ever growing collection.

What do you ladies think? Are cuff bracelets the way to go?

Want to know how to wear your accessories the right way? Check out these great tips!

  • User post: What’s the Worst Hairstyle You Ever Had?

It's happened to all of us. The most stylish lady isn't immune. I'm talking about rocking a bad hairstyle! Sure it may have seemed cool, hip, and trendy at the time. I mean it looked fabulous - in your mind's eye that is! There could be many reasons for this. Maybe it was the sign of the times. Maybe your stylist completely lost her mind! Or maybe you had to learn the hard way that every style isn't for everybody! No matter what the cause, we all have had a bad hairstyle at one time or another!

I confess! My worst hairstyle was a bad imitation of this:

Sure, it was soo cool at the time and I wasn't the only one who wore her hair like this but its still no excuse! I had a rainbow of rubber bands in my hair, making sure the braids were as tiny as possible so it looked like I had more hair. To top it off and be really "gangsta" I rocked a bandana headband too! OMG! Thank goodness there aren't any pictures (at least not that I know of!)

    So let's fess up
