Spring 2015 Bridal Fashion Week offered up countless exciting options for wedding dresses: Off-the-shoulder sleeves, crop tops, slinky sheath silhouettes, and, one of our favorite trends, totally unique backs.

The idea behind a statement wedding dress back seems like a no-brainer. As a bride walks down the ceremony aisle, it gives wedding guests something gorgeous to look at (in addition to a veil or train). It also provides a divine counterpart to plunging V-neck gowns and adds intrigue to what might otherwise be an understated design from the front. Last season, we noticed a proliferation of open backs framed with lace. It was a simply stunning keyhole style that was re-imagined in this season's new collections, with fashion houses taking embellished back views to the next level. We were dazzled by backs featuring illusion netting, tulle flowers, sparkly beading, decadent appliqués, and more. Even the understated offerings, like this elegant Carolina Herrera

  • Even though you're not descending a rocky cliff like this biker, watching the trek through his eyes is just as thrilling.

A video of some daredevil cyclist wearing a GoPro was posted to YouTube on Tuesday, chronicling his incredible journey down the mountain, and it has nearly a million hits to date.

It's hard to watch without closing your eyes, and about halfway through (just when you're hoping it's over and the biker can go home safe), the course gets worse.

"You got this," an observer says, as the biker stares at a wood track leading him almost vertically down the peak.

Not only does the biker stay on the path, he seems to flip and twist through the air as he leaps from various points. He never falls, he only gets higher and more acrobatic.

We hope he was at least wearing a helmet!

  • Why?Why?As parents, we've all had to turn some pretty ridiculous phrases at one time or another. The question is, have we, the parents, gone bat shit crazy for uttering these words, or is it our children who are certifiable for doing things that require us to speak them?

Just last week, I had to ask my 9yo daughter, Ry to stop smelling the cat. And not so long before that, I had to explain motorboating to my tween son (with an audio demonstration), so he could keep up with the middle school cafeteria banter.

Here are some of the weirdest things I've had to say to my children over the years (I surprise myself daily), plus some phrases from my awesome Facebook Fans, who never disappoint.

    1. "You can have a favorite shirt, but you're not allowed to have a favorite pair of underwear."

    2. "Gum you find under tables is NOT 'free' gum."

    3. "I don't care how much she annoys you, your sister is not for sale."

    4. "Please stop riding the dog."

  • "I don't mind a parasite," Humphrey Bogart quipped in Casablanca. "I object to a cut-rate one." You get the sense, throughout his career in the movies, that he might say the same thing about suits. Among the most beloved film stars of all time, Bogart remains one of the most legendarily well-dressed, too, his style on screen and off as iconic as anything else about him. This week Warner Bros is putting out a deluxe Blu-ray box set called The Best of Bogart, a collection that includes four of his best-known films and, naturally, boasts a picture of Bogie on the cover looking as sharp as ever in his classic white tux. To celebrate the occasion we thought we'd take a look back through Bogart's career in film and fashion to see what he can teach today's modern man about pulling off that timeless look.

  • Shockingly Salty FoodsShockingly Salty FoodsSalt is so in right now -- as in, in everything you eat. As any healthcare professional will tell you, our sodium intake is out of control. Both the American Heart Association and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention report that Americans are swilling as much as 3,600mg of the stuff a day -- more than double the recommended intake of 1,500mg max. We all might as well be walking around with our own personal salt licks. And surprise, surprise: all that salt is not doing your looks any favors.

Besides contributing to heart disease, high blood pressure and obesity, to name a few, OD-ing on salt dehydrates skin, which means more wrinkles, puffy eyes and dark circles. It also can make you bloated, which -- we don't have to tell you -- will not help you squeeze into those skinny jeans.

Cutting back on your salt intake isn't as easy as putting down the salt shaker, or avoiding the obvious culprits, like pretzels and chips. Salt is sneakier than you'd think, and it's hiding in

  • Don't say to a woman

    By Anna Breslaw

If you call another woman a slut, I'll use your bones to make furniture.

    1. "Men are more rational, and women are more emotional." And cats like the color red, and dogs will only listen to Jason Derulo, and that ficus bush is your cousin. Oh, I thought we were making nonsense statements.

    2. "Women can't drive." We don't have, like, giant tampons for heads. Don't be a moron.

    3. "You're funny/smart for a girl." OMG thank you! I hope to rise above the ranks and someday be considered smart for a human, but this is a great honor.

    4. "Girls all want to marry rich." Some girls want to marry rich. Other girls want to marry the person they love, whether s/he is rich or poor or an alien who uses peacock feathers as currency. And other girls don't want to get married! So like, that's how that works.

    5. "I don't get why women love assholes." Yeah, actually, that whole thing where you pretend to be a dick to

  • Everyone dreads dental appointments — thinking of the drill buzzing alone is enough to induce nightmares — but to keep your pearly whites looking, well, pearly and white, an annual teeth cleaning is absolutely necessary. But to ease your fears of the intimidating oral tools, know that the future person behind the mask could possibly be one of these silly dental students featured in the “Wax it Fresh, and Carve it Smooth” video.

The creators of the cheeky video, Sam King and Greg Montgomery, are in their second year at Creighton Dental School in Omaha, Neb., and decided it was time to put down the books and drills and let loose using their newly acquired orthodontic knowledge. King filmed and edited and Montgomery, the dapper almost dentist rapping and rhyming about root canals, wrote the maddeningly catchy song. Lyrics like “having dreams about my teeth falling out,” and “I spit out you haters with my anti-plaque” are some of the most memorable lines. The pair are also joined by their

In honor of her birthday today, we asked Moroccanoil's global creative director, Antonio Corral Calero, to dish on just what makes this particular style spawn so many copycats:

    1. "The Victoria Beckham bob is classic, but still feels fresh and modern because of the long layers and sharp angles in the front. It can work for women of any age, which is what makes it so versatile," says Calero.

By Jennifer Brown, PhD, Everyday Health

Sometimes medication is simply not enough to control high blood pressure - or so doctors thought. But in their search for why some patients don't respond to treatment, a team of researchers found many were in fact not taking their drugs at all, based on levels of the medications in their urine samples.

Lead investigator Maciej Tomaszewski, MD, and others make the case for using a simple urinanalysis to check whether patients with "resistant" hypertension actually take the drugs they were prescribed. The results of their research at the University of Leicester in the UK were published this week in the journal Heart.

Barriers to Getting Hypertension Under Control

High blood pressure puts you at risk for heart disease and stroke - two good reasons to get it under control. Heart disease is the leading cause of death in the United States for both men and women, yet many physicians believe it is preventable by effectively treating its

Step 1: Braids work best on second-day hair, but if time isn't on your hands, sprinkle a thickening powder like Fudge Urban Powder Styler all over your hair to create texture. Split the hair into two big sections, straight down the middle, instead of the three you need for a standard braid.

Step 2: Take a thin strand from the outside of the right section and cross it over to join with the left
