10 Waffle Recipes for Cold Weather Breakfasts

Last year we were given waffle maker, and I have been using it nearly every day since it came into our house.I love homemade waffles in the morning and my daughter does, too. I've spent a while scrolling through The Family Kitchen and have gathered a whole bunch of delicious recipes I can't wait to try. We have everything from healthy whole-wheat waffles to fruit-topped breakfast stacks. There is something for everyone. Take a look through and pick a few to try - I guarantee you will love them!

1. Orangette Waffles

For this waffle recipe I took my inspiration from my favorite candy: chocolate covered orange peels. I took my favorite basic waffle mix and added lots of orange zest and cinnamon then drizzled the fresh stack with plenty of chocolate syrup. The result was a delicious breakfast that tasted just like my favorite candy!

Ingredients:

1 cup homemade pancake or waffle mix
1 egg
1 cup whole milk
2 teaspoons freshly grated orange zest
Chocolate syrup for drizzling

Directions:

Whisk together the above ingredients in a bowl until smooth and creamy. Pour the batter on to the hot waffle iron and cook until light brown and toasted. Drizzle with chocolate syrup and serve!
