5 Beauty Shortcuts for Moms

Being a superstar Mom shouldn't mean sacrificing your own beauty routine. Here are 5 tips for saving time in front of the mirror while looking like you spent the day at the salon.

1. Trade Shampoo for Hair Powder
No time to hit the shower and maintain a good blowout? Baby powder works well to absorb grease on blond or gray hair - and luckily it's always within reach. If you have a darker shade of hair, invest in a decent tinted powder and apply it to your roots. Try Jonathan Green Routine Dry Shampoo. Real mom Jennifer (pictured here)says, "Thanks to this genius dry shampoo I don't have to wash my hair every day. I just brush it on my scalp, and my hair instantly looks clean and shiny, plus it has a little extra volume."

2. Switch Up Your Part
To lift limp locks, try switching your part. Turn your center part into a side part, for example, to get more lift. Your hair will have more body, and the change only takes about five seconds to accomplish. Another option for instantly fuller hair: Flip dry hair upside down and spritz volumizer at the roots, then flip it back up and blow-dry for a few seconds to set the spray.

3. Trade Moisturizer for Conditioner
Use conditioner to moisturize your hair - and body. Just massage it in neck-to-toe in the shower, rinse, and dry off. The conditioner will hydratenearly as well as body lotion - without the time suck of waiting for it to sink in. Plus, aren't the minutes you spend in the shower just perfect for unwinding? You know once you jump out, there's a pitter-patter of little feet waiting for you.

4. Get a Wide-Awake Face
Two instant makeup pick-me-ups are blush and concealer. Pat concealer onto the inner corners of your eyes, under your lower lashes, and next to your nose. Finish by swirling bronzer or blush over your cheeks. Try Bobbi Brown Rose Shimmer Brick Compact. "This shimmery powder is the perfect highlighter and blush all in one," says Jennifer. "It creates the prettiest rosy glow. I wear it every day and always have it on me for a quick midday touch-up."

5. Give Yourself a Quick Manicure
60-second strategy: Remove all polish, clean under your nails (with lemon juice, if you have it), and massage the thickest lotion you can find (lip balm will suffice in a pinch) into your cuticles.
