Why Being a Bridesmaid Sucks

From expensive dresses to dealing with bridezillas, being a bridesmaid can be the ultimate annoyance. Comedian Ophira Eisenberg is the author of "Screw Everyone: Sleeping My Way to Monogamy," and she stopped by "Daily Shot" to sound off on why being a bridesmaid is just the worst.

"I think it's actually gotten more horrible," Ophira says of the financial burden. "The money, that's why most people say no. It's a great expense."

Her second grievance? The dresses. "That's endless material!" She says. Even when laid-back brides allow bridesmaids to select their own dresses, "it's like some terrible color" like "dusty rose."

And every bride turns into a bridezilla at one point or another during the planning process. "Brides who are the nicest people in normal life, right before the wedding go nuts," Ophira says. "If you're in the bridal party, there's an expectation that you're there!"

Ophira also says a bridesmaid's time and suffering should count as a wedding present. "If you're a bridesmaid, no gift," she says. "Your time and effort should be the gift."
