Is This the Best or Worst Way to Ask Your Girlfriend to the Prom?

Forget flash mobs, and leave behind the bouquet of roses! The hot new way to ask your significant other to go to the prom with you is to scare the living daylights out of them!

A few days ago, we covered the story of a high school senior who pranked his girlfriend into thinking she had her college acceptance rescinded, only to find out he was asking her to be his prom date. Now, a Texan teen thought the best way to show his girlfriend how delighted he would be to accompany her to this celebrated rite of passage was to make her believe she was getting arrested!

Andrea Rojas was driving through her hometown of La Porte, TX with her boyfriend Johnny Morales when she was pulled over by the police.

"I didn't have my license. It wasn't my car," said Andrea to KTRK News. "They told me I was speeding, and I had a taillight out. So I was thinking they are going to give me multiple tickets."

Like any normal teenager confronted by the police (and the inevitable wave of fury from her parents), Andrea started freaking out. She was crying hysterically when the two officers asked her to exit her vehicle and move to the back of the car… which is when the trunk opened and a bunch of balloons flew out, as well as a sign asking her to prom.

"It was really hard to keep composure during the rest of the stop because we knew what the end result was going to be," laughed one of the officers.

"I didn't think he would plan something like this," said Andrea, who - for some reason - agreed to go to the prom with her boyfriend after all this. Johnny, don't be alarmed if the FBI comes to your door in the next few weeks. That's just Andrea showing how much she cares!
