If Life Gets You Down, George W. Bush Might Write You a Note

It's been a rough couple weeks for Alabama football kicker Cade Foster, who has been blamed for missing three field goals in his team's dramatic loss to Auburn last month. George W. Bush figured he needed to do something to cheer the guy up.

Thus, the former U.S. President wrote Foster a letter:

"Dear Cade (#43)," he said. "Life has its setbacks. I know! However, you will be a stronger human with time. I wish you all the best. Sincerely, another 43, George Bush."

Bush was the 43rd president of the United States, and incidentally, that's Foster's team number. The college student posted a photo of the letter to his Twitter account on Wednesday, and the note has since been retweeted over 4,000 times.

Yahoo! reports that Foster received threats on social media in the aftermath of the loss, but teammates and fans supported him. They even created a Facebook page in his honor, which has since gained over 86,000 followers. Foster had made 11 of 12 field goals on the season before the game with Auburn.

But all is not lost! Now Foster can count Bush as one of those admirers.
