Singing Students from Detroit Are Really Happy After Meeting Ellen

When Ellen first saw the student choir from the Detroit Academy of Arts & Sciences (DAAS) perform Pharrell's hit song "Happy," she knew she wanted to do something to make them even happier.

The kids and their teacher, Angela Kee, thought they were going to be filmed for a documentary, but were instead treated to multiple surprises from Ellen! Not only did they get to meet her and Pharrell, Ellen presented them with a $50,000 check to help fund their trip to Florida to perform at Disney World.

Ninety-eight percent of the students at the Detroit charter school are on free or reduced cost lunch and live at or near the poverty line. The school encourages their students to get involved in the arts, as you can tell from the enthusiasm these awesome kids have for performing.

See how excited they were after receiving this amazing surprise! Now that's a celebration!
