Valentine's Day isn't just for lovers - you should celebrate the love you have for your friends, too. There's no friendship greater than the one between these two blind rescue cows.

Sweety spent eight long years at a dairy farm in Canada, four years longer than your typical dairy cow. After a suffering a foot infection and other ailments, the blind bovine was sent to slaughter, but was saved at the last minute by the Farm Sanctuary in Watkins Glen, NY.

Sweety was shipped from Canada to the sanctuary, located on the edge of one the Finger Lakes outside Ithaca. It was there that she met another blind cow named Tricia, and an amazing friendship was born.

After just one day together, Sweety's new handlers could tell that she had started to relax and settle into her new life with Tricia by her side.

Tricia's mood improved as well. Cows are peaceful, social animals that crave companionship, and one suffering from a disability has an even harder time since they are often kept separate from the herd. Now these two best buds have each other to lean on and nuzzle.

You can adopt a farm animal or just donate to help other animals like Sweety and Tricia live out their full lives in comfort. Find out more information at the Farm Sanctuary website.
