Watch an Amazing Animal Rescue Mission as it Happens!
When a black Labrador named Oreo found herself trapped on a high cliff above tumultuous waters, her two-legged friends quickly came to the rescue.
Last Saturday, the dog was spotted on a two-foot ledge, 40 feet down a 90-foot cliff on a beach in California's Sonoma County. Above Oreo was a cliff too narrow to climb back up, and below were crashing ocean waves. It was a dire situation, but the Sonoma County Sheriff's department rushed to the scene to help.

"The dog and I got to know each other real quick," Boustany told local paper The Press Democrat of hanging from the helicopter with Oreo in his arms. "I think the dog just wanted to be out of there."
The moment Oreo and her rescuer safely make their way back to the ground, her tail goes wild! That's her way of saying thanks -- and that she's had her fill of the beach for awhile.
