This Woman Found Happiness in Her Love of Hockey

The St. Louis Blues triumphed last night against the Chicago Blackhawks in a 4-3 win, and we know one diehard fan who's likely over the moon about their victory.

St. Louis local Cat Moore can often be seen in and around the Scottrade Center, rooting for her favorite team in all sorts of eccentric looks.

Moore is fond of feathered wigs:

Colorful makeup paired with bright blue contact lenses:

And outrageous footwear:

Moore's enthusiasm for hockey - and The Blues specifically - comes from her finding a way to cope with her many medical issues.

"I have multiple illnesses and diseases and I had to stop working," she tells KSDK News. Moore's illnesses (not specified by KSDK) caused her to lose her hair and walk with a cane. "My doctors wanted me to start doing something, because I started going into depression."

The thing Moore found was hockey, and it gave her something to look forward to. "Some friends of mine took me to a live game, a Blues game," says Moore. "I got to meet Alex Steen and Keith Tkachuk afterwards and they've been stuck with me ever since."

"I'd say the players [saved my life], they encouraged me a lot," she adds.

As Moore shows, you don't need to be an athlete for sports to have a supremely positive effect on your life.
