A flight attendant with a good sense of humor managed to turn a mundane task into a viral sensation when she infused her safety briefing with lots of snarky jokes.

Marty Cobb, a flight attendant with Southwest Airlines from Dallas, became an Internet hit with a video of her making passengers laugh, which has accrued over 6 million hits in 48 hours. In the sketch, she talks about positioning the seat belt around your hips "like my grandmother wears her support bra," and jokes that everybody gets a "door prize" in the seat pocket that could include "dirty diapers, chewing gum rappers, banana peels and all the other lovely gifts you leave for us."

Cobb has three children and has been working for the airline for over seven years. As it turns out, this isn't the first time she's made standard procedures more entertaining.

"I've been doing funny announcements for a few years now," Cobb tells the Good News Blog. "I always try to change it up, but there's only so much you can change because I have limited material. I learned the safety speech the normal way, but it's hard for me to do it normal, so I started to have fun with it!"

She adds, "Southwest lets us have fun and they encourage us to use our personalities. We're nurses to these passengers, and now we can make them laugh and relax!"

The passengers on Cobb's flight certainly enjoyed her amusing routine. In fact, it was the audience who inspired her to film it in the first place.

"Passengers have been very supportive of the speech over the years and it makes them smile, so I figured, why not?" Cobb remarks. "I did my safety speech one day and I was going through the cabin for the final safety check. I came across a girl who was crying, and she said, "I've always been afraid to fly and I think you just cured me!" The speech just makes everybody laugh and happy and it sets the tone for the flight."

It's good to know that Cobb and a "teeny weeny yellow Southwest bikini" are waiting for us on our next flight!
