Exclusive: Victoria's Secret fall 2012 eye makeup trends with VS makeup artist Polly Osmond

Dramatic eyes, bold brows, and doll lashes are some of the hottest trends for fall, and you can create these runway-inspired looks with only a handful of products! Victoria's Secret has just launched its new VS Makeup collection for fall with shades and tools to recreate the VS Supermodel eye looks at home. I had the chance to interview Victoria's Secret makeup artist Polly Osmond recently, and she shares her tricks for creating perfect high-drama eyes and the season's most-coveted looks below. The classic smoky eye gets a makeover for fall with alluring colors and a heavily-lined eye. You can wear this look day or night depending on the eye shadow shades you choose.

Check out this video for creating dramatic eyes using the VS Makeup 'Overnight Sensation' eye shadow quad, then read on for a Q&A with Polly Osmond:

Q&A with Victoria's Secret Makeup Artist Polly Osmond

S: In addition to the smoky eye, what's one other popular eye makeup look for fall?

P: "Another trend for fall would be the dark gothic lip, keeping the rest of the face clean. Layer the lip using a dark red/berry lip liner really giving the line of the lip an accentuated line; fill the lip in with the liner as this will help the lipstick to stay. Then, using a dark berry, fill the lip in. With a good coating of mascara, this is a dramatic and sexy look."

S: What's the best way to lighten up the smoky eye look for daytime?

P: "A lighter, smoky eye can be achieved by using the lighter of the colors, if you are using a multiple color pallet or if you are using one color apply a wash of color (one layer and blend). For a very light eye, don't add shadow underneath."

S: What is your best tip for getting a perfect line with the eyeliner pen or liquid liners this season?

P: "How steady is your hand? Although cream liners tend to be a little matte, the desired effect of a sharp line can be achieved by both. I prefer to use a cream liner when applying it to someone else, but a pen liner to put on myself. Both will give you a sharp line."

S: In addition to the VS Pro Overnight Sensation quad, what are two or three of your favorite colors for fall eye makeup looks?

P: "My favorite colors are the greys and navy blues, but for a pallet that is so versatile the VS Bombshell Kit you have a wide choice and can really experiment."

S: What's your best tip for making eye makeup stay put this season?

P: "To help make eye shadow stay on, use a primer and a little powder on the lid. This will absorb any oil."
