The concurrence of New York Fashion Week and the never-ending polar vortex offers one not-so-bad consolation: tons more easy, inspired, and warm layered outfit ideas, like these five:

Fashion Month poster girl, blogger, and designer Chiara Ferragni nails it again in another awesome outfit (although I'm still dying for allover pink). She layered a patched-out varsity jacket by Opening Ceremony over an equally colorful and textured minidress and then accessorized with prep-school-chic accessories in a sporty blue: a Saint Laurent bag and billowy checked scarf. Her thigh-high Jimmy Choo boots provide some warmth but flash some bare leg, because, come on, it's still Fashion Week (and she probably has car service).

When it's below 30 degrees outside (with a snowfall on the horizon), a puffer coat is kind of a necessity. But Miroslava Duma opted for an ultra-glam look with a crystal-encrusted, winter-white puffy by Moncler. Then she went for the on-trend winter white palette with tailored cropped trousers and platform lace-up booties.

We Wore What blogger Danielle Bernstein threw together an outfit that's so simple yet insanely chic. She instantly elevated her casual white Topshop fisherman's sweater and Acne cropped jeans pairing with sleek Jimmy Choo booties and a posh Max Mara camel coat--thrown over her shoulders like a cape, of course.

J.Crew creative director and all-around fashion crush Jenna Lyons counterbalanced her wildly printed pajama pants and oversize sweatshirt pairing with an elegantly tailored black overcoat, ladylike gold T-strap heels, and a sleek matching clutch. Her checked scarf keeps her toasty and adds a breezy, thrown-on-at-the-last-minute detail to the whole outfit.

Stylist Anya Ziourova skillfully mixed and layered a few style elements together for this military-chic-goes-downtown look. She started an army green button-down tucked into a tones-of A-line skirt. Then softened the pairing with a gray cardigan to transition into her awesome neon yellow wool coat. And since more fluoro, the better, she topped it all off with a hot pink beanie.
