Try This at Home: Oscar De La Renta’s Ethereal Makeup

Very rarely does a makeup look stand out and blend in all at once, but the glowing effect created by Gucci Westman for Oscar de la Renta's Spring 2014 show did just that. We love how it didn't outshine de la Renta's intricate gowns, but held an ethereal effect all on its own. "The clothes had somewhat of a '50s and '60s feel, and I was very inspired by Kim Novak and Tippi Hedren for this look - classic beauties that are timeless and cool," Westman told us backstage before the show. "I've also been wanting to do a lip gloss all week, so we're doing that here. We're using the Revlon ColorBurst Lip Butters in Pink Lemonade and Juicy Papaya ($8 each; drugstore.com) and are layering the Lip Gloss in Snow Pink ($8; drugstore.com) on top." For the eyes, Westman used the primer from Revlon's Shadow + Sparkle in Metropolitan ($8; drugstore.com), then blended three violet, pink, and peach hues from her spring collaboration with the brand over the lids, concentrating the deeper shades near the lash line. The champagne color from the Not Just Nudes Creme Shadow Palette ($6; drugstore.com) provided a subtle highlight, and the beige side of Revlon's PhotoReady Intense Eyeliner in Purple Reign ($9; drugstore.com) gave models a wide-eyed effect when swept onto the lower lash line. A few coats of the Lash Potion Mascara ($8; drugstore.com) added subtle definition. "Make sure to blend the shadows very well," Westman added. "Peach, coral, and pink tones all go good together, and are easy to blend."
