It's the perfect no-fail makeup look -- for example, when was the last time you looked at a celeb and thought: "Wow, she really messed up that lip gloss" or "She would have looked great, but her lip gloss was a mess!"? Probably never, or at least not as often as you see and judge other scary celebrity makeup looks.

Why: Readers say this product is "somewhat sticky, not very long lasting," and "not worth the price." One woman says, "this lip polish is thick, and hard to control the amount on the flimsy brush. If you wipe it off the rim, it creates a string as you pull out. I also can't imagine how I'll get to the bottom of this product because the applicator definitely won't reach the corners and the product is too thick. Strangest lip product -- stick to the traditional ones." Another reader agrees saying, "this gloss was really sticky and my hair was constantly getting stuck to my mouth. I know that is inevitable with lip gloss, but it happened more frequently with this one."

Why: "It does plump your lips a bit, and the colors are pretty, but it tastes SO BAD, and smells like MOTH BALLS. Not something I want my husband to associate with my lips. Even for a dollar it's like a punishment to have to endure this being on your mouth," a reader says. Another adds, "it's rare that I throw away products even if I don't love them, but after using this twice it went straight into the trash!" And one reader says, "I bought this just because it was only $1 and I thought if it plumps my lips, great, if not, that's OK too. Not only does it not plump your lips, but it smells so disgusting. Why: "Over time, I started to develop an allergic reaction to the product. My lips got a fine rash, and the rash further developed into tiny scabs," says a reader. It does taste good and is very glossy, but it dried out my lips pretty bad. I thought applying more lip gloss would fix the problem, but it only made it worse. Definitely not a good buy."
