3 Outfit Ideas To Wear To A Super Bowl Party (Or Any Fun, Low-Key House Party For That Matter)

By Natalie Matthews,Glamour magazine

Sorry, STFers that double as football fans: I gotta admit that I usually spend the Super Bowl blabbing away during the game then yelling at everyone to zip it during the commercials. But that doesn't mean I don't still love the fun of watching the game over at a friend's house--and of course, getting dressed up for the occasion with a bit of festiveness. So since I do indeed have a Super Bowl party to go to this weekend, I'm taking some cues from the girls at Styleist on how to get my outfit on board with the sports spirit- without going overboard (or worse, buying something I won't wear again!)

Here are my top 3 picks for an easy outfit that's totally repeatable any Sunday, not just Super Bowl Sunday...

If you're picking the Packers as your team:

Turn their green into an excuse to scoop up a military green item you'll want to wear long after the game's over. (I'm wearing green cargo pants right now, and am pretty sure they'll see the light of day on Sunday, too.)

If you're siding with the Steelers:

Embrace the golden yellow and black combo. Admittedly, I used to be sort of afraid of it (visions of me looking like a bumble bee swarmed in my head), but after seeing it look super chic on Michelle Monaghan, I really want to give it a try. Plus, it's a little more pretty and polished for a weekend brunch, perhaps, than the military green look.

If you want to pick what team your siding with after you get to the party (hey, you never know what team the cute stranger is rooting for til you walk into the TV room):

As the Styleist girls point out, both teams have gold in their colors. Which means you can throw on my usual uniform of jeans and neutral tee, pair it with an easy gold accessory, and you're covered either way. Phew.

Of course, if you're a die-hard, face-paint, official gear type of fan, more power to you. I might not be a football fan, but when it comes to basketball, it's always just my lucky enormous jersey and a Carolina blue temporary cheek tattoo.

What do you think, ladies? What will you be wearing this Sunday? Are you watching the game at all?
