3 Updos That Last All Night

Getting your hair off your neck and away from your face is going to start becoming pretty imperative, especially as the weather gets increasingly warmer. If there is one thing worse than having hot, heavy hair hanging on your shoulders it's having a beautiful updo that just won't stay put.

The next time you want to switch up your style or just get your hair up sans your average ponytail, try one of these updos that will stick with you all night long.

The Ballerina Bun

This style works for all hair types, but the thicker your hair is the more oomph you can add to your bun. To get this look all you need are a few elastics and some willpower. Put your hair in a high ponytail - the higher the pony the higher the bun will be. Coil the ponytail around your finger from beginning to end. Next, wrap hair around the elastic in a circular motion. Secure with another elastic and mist with a long-lasting hairspray like Aussie Opposites Attract Extra Strong + Touchable Feel Hairspray.

Messy Side Braid

One up Lauren Conrad with this braid. Part hair down the center and braid slightly off to the side for a messy, boho-chic look. Instead of an elastic, try an oversized bow to hold hair together.

Once secure, gently pull sections of the braid (think of how you would tighten a ponytail) to get a tousled effect. Spritz hair spray or a light gel to the front sections of your hair to prevent flyaways.

Slicked Back

This sleek, sexy look is perfect for when the humidity kicks it up a notch. Use a gel that will give you hold, but won't make your hair look wet like TIGI Bed Head Power Trip Hair Gel, as you smooth hair completely back. Pull back with an elastic and leave your ponytail tousled or pulled into a low bun.

This hairstyle will accentuate your eyes, so be sure to make heads turn with a sultry, smoky eye. If having your hair completely pulled back makes you feel self-conscious or brings back memories of working at your high school fast food job, pair this hairstyle with a fun headband to give it a little more personality. Tip: This is a great hairstyle to cover up oily, unwashed hair.
