4 Romantic Movie Beauty Looks to Try for Valentine's Day

By Kate Sullivan, Allure magazine

Assuming you've chosen a gift for your significant other (or your BFF) and have opted in to (or out of) one of the country's most popular bikini wax styles-the only thing left to do for Valentine's Day is decide on your beauty look for the evening. Garner some inspiration from these, some of the most romantic makeup and hairstyles ever on film. They're as gorgeous today as they were when they premiered.

Grace Kelly as Lisa Fremont in Rear Window (1954)
You might think the look is a little retro-but you can totally pull it off without looking like you're in a Halloween costume. As fashion editor Fremont, Kelly wore soft (but set) curls tucked behind her ears and an orange-y red lipstick-as seen in Gucci's Spring show-that's always on trend. Perfect for dinner at The 21 Club, whether it's 1954 or 2011.

Tamiyo Kusakari as Mai Kishikawa in Shall We Dance (1996)
As the enchanting dance instructor, Kusakari (a former real-life ballerina) has never been more glamorous than she is at end of the film, with bright red lips, strong, filled-in brows, and a sophisticated updo.

Audrey Tautou as Amélie Poulain in Amélie (2001)
Tautou's bare-faced look is accompanied by the ultimate hipster haircut-a bob with short, blunt bangs. The slight flip at the bottom-which you can create with a round brush and blow-dryer or curling iron-makes what could be a severe cut look totally sweet.

Sanaa Lathan as Kenya McQueen in Something New (2006)
It's a movie metaphor that's been seen before (and since), but always to great effect: When Lathan's uptight workaholic character lets her guard down, she also ditches her stuffy chignon and matte face for loose curls and dewy skin. Ah, the power of love...or was that highlighter?
