5 Ways To Look Prettier For Spring
I don't know how this happened, but it's already March -- which means spring is right around the corner. Now whether you're totally excited about this or not (I was, once I saw how cute this spring trend is), you can do one of two things: sit back and let this gorgeous season pass you by, or take advantage of these five easy tips to be the prettiest girl at every occasion -- special or not -- this spring.
1. Brighten your skin
If you start now, you can totally steal the complexion of this gorgeous celebrity by the time spring actually rolls around. Look for moisturizers or serums that have ingredients like Vitamin C, and make your own mask with honey and mashed bananas (or try this other facial recipe) to get rid of dry winter skin and bring on that springtime glow.
2. Switch to peach-colored eyeliner
Lining the inner rims of your eyes with a peachy eye pencil helps create the illusion of looking more bright-eyed and awake, which is the perfect accessory to any springtime ensemble. Still not sure if this trick actually works? Look how it totally opened up this celebrity's eyes.
3. Put your blush on before you apply your foundation
We heard this great tip backstage at Fashion Week (along with these other must-read runway secrets). Doing this will make it look like the color is coming from within the skin, not just sitting on top of it. Although Snooki might not agree (based on these pictures), we think a natural-looking glow in spring is so much prettier than caked-on makeup.
4. Try this fun ponytail
I mean, doesn't Whitney Port look adorable? It's a great way to lift hair away from your face and draw attention to your pretty makeup instead. For an extra spring-worthy vibe, put away those hot tools and use your natural hair texture. Just tease the ends of your hair and mist with lightweight hairspray before sweeping it up into a pony.
5. Mix and match your clothing
Your closet is probably bursting with different trends, so you might as get some use out of your collection of prints and patterns, right? For example, try pairing your striped nautical shirt with a plaid skirt, or throw on a light cardigan over your floral print dress (love this look). The point being: don't be afraid to wear out-of-the-box styles this spring.
