7 Steps to Natural Beauty This Spring

By GalTime Makeup Stylist Andrea Ducharme

March is finally here, and spring is right around the corner! Time to think about fun, fresh beauty and say goodbye to winter for good! The spring runways featured a range of looks, but my personal favorite was glowing and natural. The makeup counters are chock full of beautiful colors and textures to help you achieve this top trend. Here are some tips:

1.) Start by revving up your complexion. Mix a few drops of liquid luminizer with your foundation. This will impart a beautiful, yet subtle glow. A few to try are NARS Illuminator, Clinique Up-Lighting Liquid Illuminator and Paula Dorf Face Tint in Jet Set Glo.

2.) Add a few dabs of a liquid concealer under your eyes and on your lids. This will brighten you up and double as an eyeshadow base. I like MAC Pro Longwear Concealer. It's super concentrated and easy to blend.

3.) Pick a neutral eyeshadow and sweep across your eyelids, then add something with some pop along the lash line. The choices are endless, but some great shades are violets and blues for brown/hazel eyes, and bronze, khaki or gold for blue eyes.

4.) Pick a sheer powder bronzer and sweep in the shape of a 3 from your temple to jawline. My all time favorite pick is Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess Soft Duo Bronzer. It has just the right amount of sheen and won't look orange!

5.) Get your cheeks rosy with a few dabs of a cream blush in a natural, rosy hue. Place a few dots on the apples of your cheeks and blend lightly. My go-to shade that looks perfect on most skin tones is Paula Dorf Cheek Color Cream in Candy Apple.

6.) Use a lengthening mascara in black. Apply two coats to the upper lashes and just a touch on the lower.

7.) For the finishing touch, pick a punchy lip color. Fuchsia pinks and corals are always pretty. A good investment is to buy a full-coverage lipstick. For a sheer look, just dab a bit of the color on the lips and top with clear gloss. You can use the same color full-strength for more impact.
