A Tribute to Fashion Week: Hair and Makeup Looks We Wouldn't Be Caught Dead Wearing

As we speak, Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week is in full swing at Lincoln Center in New York City. And although designers are currently showing what will be considered hot for next spring, we looked to the archives of this past February's shows, (when designers showcased their trends for this fall) to see what came down the runway for this current fall. Since we're more about beauty than fashion here, let's have a look at some of the worst hairstyles and makeup ideas that were just, well, silly. The Smoky Eye Gone Wrong
This look to the right has us flashing back to college, and we're doing the walk of shame home from the frat house after a night of partying. If the top lid stood alone, this look would work, but the heavy liner on the lower lid takes it to another (scary) level. If you find that your eyeliner tends to drip, use a gel-based one and apply a thin layer of powder over it to keep migration at a minimum. Bloodshot Eyes

These eyes remind us of waking up in college after pulling an all-nighter the day of a big exam. Unless it's a dramatic hazy eye you're going for, keep the under-eye area as natural as possible. Colors like this red will make you look washed out and tired…or like an actual walking zombie. Related: The Trick to Well-Rested Eyes

Two-Toned Makeup
Contrasting eyes and lips can be a huge success when done right, but these shades are too different to complement each other correctly. If you're going to try the two-toned trend, use a bright shade, like a pink lip with green eyeliner or shimmer shadow. If you prefer darker shades, go for a plum lip with silver shadow. Greasy Strands
Is it just us, or does it look like this model hasn't had a shower in about a month? Never underestimate the importance of dry shampoo. Related: 8 Solutions for Oily Hair

Hairnets
This hairstyle is like an optical illusion. It took us several seconds of intense staring to determine that yes, that is a hairnet. Related: Pretty Hair Accessories
